Resveratrol exhibits a pleiotropic, favorable action under various pathological conditions, including type 2 diabetes. However, its anti-diabetic effects in animal models and human trials have not been fully elucidated. The aim of the present study was to determine whether resveratrol is capable inducing beneficial changes Goto-Kakizaki rat, spontaneous model diabetes, which several aspects similar diabetes humans. (GK) rats control Sprague-Dawley (SD) were treated intragastrically with (20...

Resveratrol is a biologically active diphenolic compound exerting multiple beneficial effects in the organism, including anti-diabetic properties. This action is, however, not fully elucidated. In present study, we examined of resveratrol on some parameters related to insulin signaling, and also diabetes-associated dysregulation Goto-Kakizaki (GK) rats with congenital type 2 diabetes. was given at dose 20 mg/kg b.w. for 10 weeks. It shown that expression phosphorylation levels receptor...

Methionyl-tRNA synthetase (MetRS) belongs to the family of 20 enzymes essential for protein biosynthesis. It links covalently methionine with its cognate tRNA. Crystal structures solved bacterial MetRSs have given a number interesting insights into enzyme architecture and methionylation catalysis. A comparison sequences belonging all kingdoms life, as well numerous biochemical genetic studies revealed presence various additional domains appended catalytic core synthetase. They are...

Glutaminyl-tRNA synthetase from Deinococcus radiodurans possesses a C-terminal extension of 215 residues appending the anticodon-binding domain. This domain constitutes paralog Yqey protein present in various organisms and part it is end GatB subunit GatCAB, partner indirect pathway Gln-tRNAGln formation. To analyze peculiarities structure–function relationship this GlnRS related to domain, structure was solved crystals diffracting at 2.3 Å docking model complexed tRNAGln constructed. The...

Aminoacyl-tRNA synthetases (AARS) are essential proteins found in all living organisms. They form a diverse group of enzymes that ensure the fidelity transfer genetic information from DNA into protein. AARS catalyse attachment amino acids to RNAs and thereby establish rules code by virtue matching nucleotide triplet anticodon with its cognate acid. Here we summarise effects recent studies on this interesting family multifunctional enzymes.

Resveratrol is a polyphenol found in different plant species and having numerous health-promoting properties animals humans. However, its protective action against deleterious effects of ethanol poorly elucidated. In the present study, influence resveratrol (10 mg/kg/day) on some hormones metabolic parameters was determined rats ingesting 10 % solution for two weeks. Blood levels insulin, glucagon adiponectin were affected by ethanol, however, partially ameliorated these changes. Moreover,...

Unlike other glutaminyl-tRNA synthetases, the one from radioresistant bacterium Deinococcus radiodurans (Dr-GlnRS) possesses an additional C-terminal extension of 220 residues that shares some homology with subunit another enzyme translation machinery. Dr-GlnRS has been crystallized in orthorhombic space group. The crystals diffract X-rays to a resolution ∼2 Å. determination structure this atypical GlnRS showed its N- and appendices, which encompass total third protein's 852 amino acids, are...

Three overlapping clones of cDNA, Mos43, Mos28 and Mos60, coding for methionyl-tRNA synthetase were obtained by screening the Oryza sativa lambda gt11 library. Their nucleotide sequence 2850 bp was determined. Abstract It has been shown recently that many proteins undergo oligomerization through exchange of structural elements. That process, termed a 3D domain swapping, is the replacement portion tertiary structure protein with an identical piece from second polypeptide chain. When reciprocated, domain‐swapped dimers embrace elements secondary or domains; however, if not reciprocated but propagated along multiple polynucleotide chains, higher‐order assemblies may form. In this paper we discuss...
