In this work, we describe the instrumentation used to perform first operando transmission X-ray microscopy (TXM) and simultaneous diffraction of laser melting simulating powder bed fusion on XCS instrument at Linac Coherent Light Source (LCLS) free-electron (XFEL). Our TXM with 40× magnification in regime 11 keV gave spatial resolutions down 940 nm per line pair, effective pixel sizes 206 nm, image integration times <100 fs, frame rates tunable between 2.1 119 ns for two probe frames (0.48...
Various nondestructive diagnostic techniques have been proposed for in situ process monitoring of laser powder bed fusion (LPBF), including melt pool pyrometry, whole-layer optical imaging, acoustic emission, atomic emission spectroscopy, high speed and thermionic emission. Correlations between these signals defect formation demonstrated with having shown to predict pore especially confidence recent machine learning studies. In this work, time-resolved data are collected both the conduction...
Biochemists and cell biologists use 1D gel electrophoresis to analyze protein compositions in samples.PAGE, a.k.a.sodium-dodecyl sulphate (SDS)-polyacrylamide electrophoresis, uses electric current separate proteins. The proteins are visualized by staining or immunofluorescent techniques. The result of a is captured an image which usually analyzed visual inspection. As the banding patterns get more complex amount differential intensity bands on increases, elaborate methodology required for...
