Gossypiboma is a condition that occurs as result of leaving sterile gauze, surgical sponges, or similar materials inadvertently retained in the body following surgery. The most common localization gossypibomas intraabdominal cavity. Patients with gossypiboma can remain asymptomatic for years. Clinical manifestations and complications vary widely. Gossypibomas significant based on affected organ its anatomical location. It difficult to determine exact incidence due medicolegal issues. While...
Summary Inflammatory cytokines have been demonstrated to play an important role in the induction and severity of acute pancreatitis (AP) recent studies. The aim this study was investigate effects curcumin on inflammatory cytokines, such as tumour necrosis factor (TNF)‐ α interleukin (IL)‐6 late phase AP. conducted 40 male Wistar Albino rats. animals were divided randomly into four equal groups. AP induced by infusion 3% sodium taurocholate biliopancreatic duct (in groups I II). Starting day...
BACKGROUND:Acute colonic diverticulitis has recently become a significant cause of hospital admissions.Complicated diverticulitis, severe form the disease, necessitates medical and surgical intervention.Prompt diagnosis in these patients is crucial. This study aims to assess role infectious parameters early complicated diverticulitis. METHODS:This retrospective analyzed 82 adult diagnosed with acute diverticulitis.Recorded data included patient demographics, stay duration, disease location,...
Background and objective: To compare the effects of sevoflurane desflurane anaesthesia on lipid peroxidation. Methods: We studied 40 healthy patients undergoing elective laparoscopic cholecystectomy. Patients were randomly allocated to be anaesthetized either with (n = 20) or 20). Anaesthesia was maintained inspiratory concentrations 1-1.5 MAC Samples taken for plasma malondialdehyde superoxide dismutase assays before induction anaesthesia, skin incision at end surgery. Alveolar cell samples...
Background: This study was devised to compare the effects of sevoflurane and desflurane anaesthesia on cytokine response. Methods: Sixty ASA I–II patients, scheduled for tympanoplasty, were randomly allocated be anaesthetized with either or at maintenance inspiratory concentrations 1–1.5 MAC agent. Blood samples taken plasma tumour necrosis factor α (TNFα), interleukin 1β interleukin‐6 assay before induction anaesthesia, surgery, end surgery. Alveolar cells obtained after Results: Plasma...
Abstract Background: New surgical techniques and devices have been described that decrease post-tonsillectomy morbidities. This study aimed to compare the two most popular tonsillectomy techniques. Method: Forty children underwent tonsillectomies using both thermal welding cold dissection In each patient, one side was removed with other dissection. Results: There a significant in intra-operative blood loss, mean operation time significantly lower on compared side. On side, tissue healing...
Nasal polyposis (NP) is considered a subgroup of chronic rhinosinusitis and commonly associated with asthma, bronchiectasis, cystic fibrosis. A certain nasal known as Aspirin Exacerbated Respiratory Disease (AERD), previously called Samter's Triad or aspirin triad, comprising polyposis, hypersensitivity makes up almost 10% cases NP. Therapy NP involves combination medical surgical treatments. However, recurrences are common, particularly in patients asthma hypersensitivity. Both topical...
Acute cholecystitis (AC) is an acute inflammatory disease of gallbladder and it one the most common causes abdominal pain. Determining severity AC at hospital admission extremely important to choose effective treatment method predict vital prognosis. The aim this study was investigate effectiveness immature granulocyte percentage (IG%) in grading severity. This retrospective carried out on 528 patients hospitalized due diagnosis. Demographic data, white blood cell (WBC) count, neutrophil...
The aim of this study is to evaluate the role pre-operative ultrasound findings for conversion from laparoscopic cholecystectomy open surgery in patients with acute cholecystitis and effects on operation time length stay. The included 80 who underwent between January 1 June 30, 2023. relationship gallbladder wall thickness presence pericholecystic fluid ultrasonography duration surgery, hospitalization was evaluated. The patient group undergoing exhibited a statistically significant increase...

An anastomosis between the recurrent inferior laryngeal nerve (RILN) and cervical sympathetic ganglion is seen rarely might be confused with non-recurrent (NRILN) in patients undergoing thyroidectomy parathyroidectomy. In spite of fact that NRILN an important anatomical structure, when damaged, quality life patient negatively affected. This case report describes a connection RILN encountered during dissection 43 year old female central zone dissection. Key points differential diagnosis are discussed.

Introduction: Dynamic thiol-disulfide balance has critical roles in regulating antioxidant protection and detoxification.Thiol/disulfite levels, which can be easily measured blood, were investigated various proliferative inflammatory diseases. It was observed that the changes this correlated with oxidant parameters. In previous studies, it been shown oxidative stress increases significantly acute pancreatitis, these levels are related to severity of disease. Owing pancreatitis is a severe...
