There is an increasing need to develop optofluidic flow cytometers. Optofluidics, where optics and microfluidics work together create novel functionalities on a small chip, holds great promise for lab-on-a-chip cytometry. The development of low-cost, compact, handheld cytometer microfluorescence-activated cell sorter system could have significant impact the field point-of-care diagnostics, improving health care in, example, underserved areas Africa Asia, that struggle with epidemics such as...
Histone-modifying enzymes play a pivotal role in gene expression and repression. In human, DOT1L (Dot1-like) is the only known histone H3 lysine 79 methyltransferase. hDOT1L associated with transcriptional activation, but general mechanism connecting to active transcription remains largely unknown. Here, we report that interacts phosphorylated C-terminal domain of actively transcribing RNA polymerase II (RNAPII) through region conserved uniquely multicellular DOT1 proteins. Genome-wide...
We investigated the effect of nitrogen (N) doping on threshold voltage an ovonic switching device using amorphous GeSe. Using spectroscopic ellipsometry, we found that addition N brought about significant changes in electronic structure GeSe, such as density localized states and band gap energy. Besides, it was observed characteristics OTS devices strongly depended N, which could be attributed to those suggesting a method modulate device.
Research on drug courts over the past decades has focused primarily individual predictors of success and/or examined effectiveness various judicial as well therapeutic intervention strategies. To broaden our understanding recovery it occurs within context social networks, following paper discusses application a new network-based framework capital. Participants in small rural southeastern Adult Drug Court filled out series questionnaires and participated number semi-structured interviews that...
We demonstrate the microfluidic sorting of directionally oriented (anisotropic) microstructures by their orientational state in solution using concept railed microfluidics. After being injected into a channel, rotate and flip various directions. In order to sort an organized way, we designed microchannel allow for orientation-based control microstructure movement. based on rotation, used wedge shaped fin Y-shaped channel. For flipped particles, use double-railed channel that has grooves both...
Highly transparent, low resistance, and cost-efficient Nb-doped (NTO)/Ag/NTO multilayer electrodes were fabricated using tilted dual-target sputtering at room temperature without in situ or postannealing processing. Due to the effective antireflection resistivity properties of Ag layer sandwiched between NTO layers, an NTO/Ag (9 nm)/NTO electrode showed a sheet resistance , high optical transmittance 86%, figure merit value even though had amorphous structure. The NTO/Ag/NTO is promising...
A dry etching process to transfer the pattern of a photonic integrated circuit design for high-speed laser communications is described. The stack under consideration 3.2-µm-thick InGaAs/InAlAs/InAlGaAs epitaxial structure grown by molecular beam epitaxy. was performed using Cl 2 -based inductively-coupled-plasma and reactive-ion-etching (ICP-RIE) reactors. Four different recipes are presented in two similar ICP-RIE reactors, with special attention paid etched features formed various hard...
CCCTC-binding factor (CTCF) critically contributes to 3Dchromatin organization by determining topologically associated domain (TAD) borders.Although CTCF primarily binds at TAD borders, there also exist putative CTCF-binding sites within TADs, which are spread throughout the genome retrotransposition. However, detailed mechanism responsible for masking remains largely elusive. Here, we show that ATPdependent chromatin remodeler, chromodomain helicase DNA-binding 4 (CHD4), regulates...
Cu thin films sandwiched between Nb-doped TiO 2 (NTO) were grown on glass substrates using tilted-dual target DC magnetron sputtering deposition. The thicknesses of the top and bottom NTOs nominally 30 nm, (t) varied 1.5 nm 50 nm. We measured ellipsometric angles (Ψ,Δ) NTO/Cu/NTO/glass by spectroscopic ellipsometry estimated dielectric functions a multi-layer model analysis. Transmission electron microscopy measurements showed that layers evolved from aggregates nanoparticles to coalesced as...
A new functionalized triethoxysilane bearing an X-shaped, anthracene-based semiconducting molecule on one arm was designed and synthesized as a precursor for the preparation of self-assembled monolayer (SAM) SiO(2) substrate. 3-Isocyanatopropyl reacted with monohydroxyl-terminated in presence tin catalyst. The 6-(5-((6-((5-hexylthiophen-2-yl)ethynyl)-9,10-bis(phenylethynyl)anthracen-2-yl)ethynyl)thiophen-2-yl)hexyl 3-(triethoxysilyl)propylcarbamate (BATHT-TEOS) found to be stable...

We measure the dielectric functions of organic-soluble, functionalized DNAs bearing functional moieties in near-infrared, visible, and ultra-violet spectra by using spectroscopic ellipsometry. Natural double-stranded DNA is dissolved water reacted with carbazole-based trimethyl ammonium bromide, cetyltrimethylammonium chalcone-terminated bromide. The products are all precipitated filtered for washing drying. successfully prepare that insoluble but soluble organic solvents. thin films...
The asymmetry between the counterpropagating modes in whistle-geometry semiconductor ring lasers might be misconstrued as a violation of Helmholtz reciprocity principle. We confirm unidirectionality configuration through rigorous 3D FDTD simulation.
