This paper presents a new approach in automation for crack detection on pavement surface images. The method is based the continuous wavelet transform. In first step, separable 2D transform several scales performed. Complex coefficient maps are built. angle and modulus information used to keep significant coefficients. Then, coefficients maximal values searched their propagation through analyzed. Finally, post-processing gives binary image which indicates presence or not of cracks image.
AbstractEfficient and secure dataset management is a critical component of collaborative research projects, where diverse data types, sharing requirements, compliance regulations converge. This work presents tool entitled DAM2 (Data Model Monitoring) developed within the Chips Joint Undertaking (Chips JU) funded European BRIGHTER project [1], to address these challenges. It provides robust adaptable solution for handling private public ground based measurements datasets throughout lifecycle....
Urban areas need to rethink their policies strengthen capacities prepare for and respond hazards become more resilient, intelligent inclusive. In this context, one of the objectives is ensure resilience services systems against multi-hazard scenarios, where effect local combines with global challenges such as climate change pandemics. Moreover, concept inclusiveness becoming crucial, highlighted during COVID, which showed that most vulnerable population living in sparsely densely populated...
In the context of fine structure extraction, lots methods have been introduced, and, particularly in pavement crack detection. We can distinguish approaches based on a threshold, employing mathematical morphology tools or neuron networks more recently, techniques with transformations, like wavelet decomposition. The goal this paper is to introduce 2D matched filter order define an adapted mother then, to use result multi-scale detection into Markov Random Field (MRF) process segment...
The ISTIMES project, funded by the European Commission in frame of a joint Call “ICT and Security” Seventh Framework Programme, is presented preliminary research results are discussed. main objective project to design, assess promote an Information Communication Technologies (ICT)-based system, exploiting distributed local sensors, for non-destructive electromagnetic monitoring critical transport infrastructures. integration technologies with new ICT information telecommunications systems...
This study aims to assess the impact of targeted scene and environmental variables on in situ long-term thermal monitoring by infrared thermography. It also addresses projection errors arising from camera perspectives digitization. Over a span 3 years, extensive measurements were conducted at two instrumented test sites, yielding valuable dataset for analysis. The paper begins introducing discussing model used convert collected data into surface temperature estimations its associated...
Damage detection and localization in civil or mechanical structures is a subject of active development research. A few vibration-based methods have been developed so far, requiring, for example, modal parameter estimates the reference damaged states investigated structure, addition finite element model. For operation, temperature has shown to be major nuisance efficiency such because parameters are varying not only with damage but also due variations. detection, rejection approaches...
Ground penetrating radar (GPR) and electric resistivity tomography (ERT) are well assessed accurate geophysical methods for the investigation of subsurface geological sections. In this paper, we present joint exploitation these at Montagnole (French Alps) experimental site with final aim to study monitor effects possible catastrophic rockslides in transport infrastructures. The overall goal GPR–ERT deployment considered here is careful monitoring structure before after a series high...
In this study, the thermal monitoring of a bridge deck is carried out over several days thanks to an adapted infrared measurement system. This system does not just operate single uncooled camera but also other sensors (i.e., weather station and global positioning (GPS). The detection inner structure achieved by pulse phase thermography principal component approaches. A first characterization proposed original modelling approach. results obtained are discussed analysed.
Abstract This work is devoted to the application of active infrared thermography defect detection in pavement structures. The challenge localize and determine some properties defects (e.g. shape depth) into a highly heterogeneous material. Experimental was carried out laboratory conditions using sample containing two (wood air). Pulsed results were compared with FLUENT numerical simulations. Different preliminary approaches investigated analyze data: singular value decomposition image...
Structural integrity assessment and monitoring of infrastructures are key factors to prevent manage crisis events (natural disasters, terrorist attacks so on) ensure urban safety. This necessity motivates huge interest towards design, optimization integration non-invasive remote in situ diagnostic techniques. In this framework, ground penetrating radar (GPR) is a well-assessed instrumentation, which allows one attain information on the inner status man-made structures while avoiding invasive...
The objective of the study summarised, hereafter, is to compare square pulsed and thermography for defect detection characterisation carbon fibre-reinforced polymer (CFRP) plates used as structural reinforcement in Civil Engineering applications. For this purpose, two specimens built with cement concrete support were manufactured laboratory. They reinforced CFRP bonded their surface different artificial defects inserted during gluing. Two types thermal excitations (pulse pulse optical...
An infrared system has been developed to monitor transport infrastructures in a standalone configuration. It is based on low cost thermal cameras linked with calculation unit order produce corrected map of the surveyed structure at selected time step. With inline version, data collected feed simplified radiative models running GPU. offline can be when are under different atmospheric conditions up foggy night conditions. ABSTRACT In this paper, Pulse Thermography analysis was applied to detect non emergent defects in asphalt concrete used for road pavements. Experimental and numerical experimentations were run on specific heterogeneous material. Only experimental data acquired with an un-cooled microbolometer camera (less sensitive than a cooled one) used. Data processed using semi-infinite heat transfer model order determine the depth of defects. At last, discussion influence performances IR employed versus...
