Short chains and complex networks of interconnected Au nanoparticle (see Figure) are produced by a simple template-free approach. Optical spectroscopy computer simulations show that surface plasmons from individual non-contacting nanoparticles strongly coupled in the resulting 1D superstructures. These may provide unique way to fabricate subwavelength optical waveguides.
Lotus seed resistant starch, known as starch type 3 (LRS3), was orally administered to mice investigate its effects on the gut microbiota, short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs) production, and mineral absorption. The results showed that fed LRS3 displayed a lower level of bacterial diversity than other groups. numbers starch-utilizing butyrate-producing bacteria, such Lactobacillus Bifidobacterium Lachnospiraceae, Ruminococcaceae, Clostridium, respectively, in increased after administration medium...
Abstract: Presently, most nanofiltration membranes are prepared with non-biodegradable petrochemical materials. This process is harmful to the ecosystem and consumes a large amount of non-renewable energy. In this study, biodegradable biocompatible antibacterial cellulose/chitosan (BC/CS-NFMs) were fabricated characterized for their mechanical strength, antimicrobial activity, salt dye filtration performance, polyethylene glycol (PEG) retention using Thermal gravimetric analysis (TGA), Field...
A hydrophilic bamboo cellulose nanofiltration membrane (IP-NF-BCM) was prepared through interfacial polymerization (IP) of amino-functional piperazine (PIP) and 1,3,5-trimesoyl chloride (TMC) on a surface. The in situ formation polyamide into the mesoporous structure regenerated film created uniform microporous membrane, which can be used for water softening by nanofiltration. reaction conditions were optimized terms performance resultant membranes. chemical structure, morphology, surface...
Abstract The combining site of the nontoxic carbohydrate binding protein (Abrus precatorius agglutinin, APA) purified from needs Abrus (Jequirity bean), was studied by quantitative precipitin and precipitin-inhibition assays. Of 26 glycoproteins polysaccharides tested, all, except sialic acid-containing desialized ovine salivary glycoproteins, reacted strongly with lectin, precipitated over 70% lectin added, indicating that APA has a broad range affinity recognizes (internal) Gal beta...
Chitosan (CS)/cellulose (BC) blend films were successfully prepared using ZnCl2•3H2O as a solvent. Homogeneous structures without obvious phase separation between CS and BC for all observed by scanning electron microscope (SEM) analysis. The tensile strengths of CS/BC decreased with the increase chitosan content. results X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis indicated that crystal disrupted during processes dissolving regeneration. Also, reformation hydrogen bonds dissolution regeneration...
Abstract The objective of this study was to investigate the multiple relations between preliminary molecular structural characteristics and antioxidant activities polysaccharides from Canarium album (Lour.) Raeusch (CPS). Three polysaccharide fractions, CPS1, CPS2, CPS3, were isolated CPS by column chromatography. CPS1 CPS3 mainly composed neutral linked α‐ β‐glycosidic linkages while CPS2 pectin linkages. According SEC‐MALLS‐RI system, weight greater compared radius did not display positive...
