Ultra-narrow-band (UNB) signaling is an enabling technology for low-power wide-area (LPWA) networks the “Internet-of-Things”. Indeed, UNB signaling, based on spectrally efficient modulations such as DBPSK, simultaneously optimizes network capacity while maximizing communication link budget. However, poses many technical challenges. In receiver, carrier frequency offsets (CFO) can shift desired signal from expected channel. transmitter, difficulty resides in generating modulated with required...
This paper presents different design assist techniques and demonstrates their impact on enhancing the intrinsic RRAM performance. We show that read-beforewrite, current-limitation write-termination reduce by -47%, -56% and-13% power consumption during writing process, respectively. Combined with write verification error correction code, overall improvements are 87% in energy saving -55% access time. Based representative macro (130nm CMOS), statistic (128kb) endurance (1M cycles)...

In the context of highly data-centric applications, close reconciliation computation and storage should significantly reduce energy-consuming process data movement. This letter proposes a computational SRAM (C-SRAM) combining in- near-memory computing (IMC/NMC) approaches to be used by scalar processor as an energy-efficient vector processing unit. Parallel is thus performed on vectorized integer large words using usual logic arithmetic operators. Furthermore, multiple rows can...
As of today, the machine-to-machine and Internet Things (IoT) markets have significantly benefited from deployment diverse efficient terrestrial low-power wide area networks (LPWAN) thanks to technologies such as SIGFOX UNB, LoRa, or NB-IoT. To further increase coverage remote areas, a satellite-based network with close interconnection one is required. In this brief, we show feasibility satellite link based on system technological concepts similar those used for LPWAN. We additionally prove...
To meet severe aeronautic environment constraints, we propose in this paper a versatile 794μW autonomous multi-power-source wireless sensor system interfacing with aeronautic-grade resistive bridge transducers and operating over wide range of -40°C to +180°C 180nm HT SOI technology. Compared previously reported works, it provides robust 8Sps-1kSps interface RFID/micro wind turbine power supply scheme.
Analyzing image content usually comes at the expense of a power consumption incompatible with battery-powered systems. Aiming proposing solution to this problem, paper presents an imager full on-chip object recognition, consuming sub-10μW using standard 4T pixels in 90nm imaging CMOS technology, opening path for both wake-up and high-quality imaging. It combines multi-modality event-of-interest detection self-controlled capabilities, key low-power applications. embeds log-domain...
This article presents a comprehensive assessment of the impact various design assist techniques on inherent performance and reliability native resistive RAM (RRAM) silicon. The collaborative optimization technology plays crucial role in replacing conventional flash memory as leading solution. We showcase that employing read-before-write, current-limitation, write-termination results reductions power consumption during programming operations by 47%, 56%, 13%, respectively. Through their...
On-chip memories, and in particular SRAMs, are among the most critical components terms of data security because they might contain sensitive such as secret keys. Whenever a tampering event is detected, one should be able to erase efficiently rapidly full content memory holding data, but current solutions based on simple power-off lead very long erasure times. In this paper, we present non-invasive design technique an innovative mechanism remove electric charges from SRAM bitcells still...
