Precore stop codon (G1896A) mutation is one of the commonest mutations found in patients with chronic hepatitis B. However, over years, this was not reported much Malaysia. We therefore investigated presence G1896A Malaysian population and its association HBeAg status, clinical stage, B virus (HBV) genotype e-seroconversion rate.Serum samples from 93 confirmed as carriers were collected for molecular assay. The whole genome HBV amplified by polymerase chain reaction directly sequenced....

Mutations in the polymerase (P) gene of hepatitis B virus are often associated with drug resistance. The pattern mutations varies geographically, thus giving rise to genotypes diversity. This study was carried out detect P isolated from Malaysian HBV carriers.A total 58 sera samples were analyzed by PCR and sequencing, which successfully amplified sequenced 40 samples.Genotyping these revealed that predominant genotype C (22/40, 55.0%), followed (17/40, 42.5%), only 1 sample showed D (2.5%)....

Cryptococcosis is a systemic fungal infection caused by Cryptococcus neoformans or gattii. causes wide range of diseases, ranging from asymptomatic pulmonary lesions to disseminated disease involving the central nervous system, particularly meningoencephalitis. C. gattii has rarely been reported in Malaysia. We present case meningitis with cryptococcosis complicated immune reconstitution inflammatory syndrome an apparently immunocompetent person no prior travel history.

The S gene region of the hepatitis B virus (HBV) codes for surface antigen (HBs Ag) and is responsible classification HBV strains. The current study aimed to identify important mutations in Hepatitis isolated from Malaysian carriers.Isolated DNAs were subjected PCR amplification sequencing full genome.A total 76 genome 17 partial sequences obtained 93 sequenced sera samples Genotyping by HEPSEQ software revealed a distribution 49.46%, 48.39% 2.15% genotypes C, B, D, respectively; whereas...

In order to study and group a few of wheat genotypes, an experiment was conducted in random block design with three replications at Agricultural Research Station Islamic Azad University Ardebil the crop year 2013. this traits including remobilization stored assimilates, contribution stem reserves yield, Eigen-weight maturity, carbohydrates transport efficiency, efficiency transporting materials seed weight were measured. Average samples used analyze data. After standardization data, distance...

To evaluate storage and Remobilization ability photosynthetic material in 10 variant of wheat bread, a pilot randomized complete block design was done under optimal conditions with drought stress at the end 2012 field Islamic Azad University, Ardabil branch. Characteristics amount from stem to grain, contribution reserves grain yield, transfer efficiency carbohydrates seed special weight were measured physiological maturity. The results combined variance analysis showed that effect...

Background: The rapid emergence and spread of carbapenem-resistant Enterobacteriaceae (CRE) are threats with no conclusive optimal antibiotics. CRE infections associated a high mortality rate considered as an urgent threat by the CDC. To enhance strategy for management, this study aimed to determine risk factors 30-day mortality. Methods materials: This retrospective, matched case control was conducted in 93 patients admitted isolate between 2015 2018 tertiary hospital. Each bacteremia...

Aims. Coagulase-negative Staphylococci (CoNS) are frequently isolated in peritoneal dialysis (PD)-related peritonitis with a high rate of relapse and repeat after initial response to antimicrobials. The optimal treatment regimen for CoNS remains debatable. Hence, this study aimed describe the clinical microbiologic characteristics PD center determine predictive factors influencing outcomes. Methods. All cases Selayang Hospital between 2011 2019 were reviewed retrospectively. Results. A total...

Intrauterine infection has emerged to be the main and frequent cause of premature delivery foetal demise. Microorganisms gain entry into amniotic cavity via ascending route, haematogenous dissemination, retrograde seeding from peritoneal accidental introduction during invasive procedures. This is a case loss in utero twin pregnancy due intrauterine sepsis diagnosed through placenta examination. Both maternal evidences inflammatory response were demonstrated on histology. The rapid emergence of antibiotic-resistant bacteria is a threat to global health particularly in the area healthcare-associate pneumonia (HCAP) where there high rate mortality. In general, guidelines should serve as framework that needs be complemented by local antibiogram data due multiple factors influencing development multidrug-resistant (MDR) HCAP. Failure administer prompt and appropriate empirical therapy would often result mortality rate. Based on these concerns, aim study was...
