Since the 1950s, microalgae have been grown commercially in man-made cultivation units and used for biomass production as a source of food feed supplements, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics lately biofuels, well means wastewater treatment mitigation atmospheric CO2 build-up. In this work, photosynthesis growth affecting variables—light intensity, pH, CO2/O2 exchange, nutrient supply, culture turbulence, light/dark cell cycling, density depth (light path)—are reviewed concerns mass cultures....

Microalgae-based bioenergy production is a promising field with regard to the wide variety of algal species and metabolic potential. The use liquid wastes as nutrient clearly improves sustainability microalgal biofuel production. Microalgae bacteria have an ecological inter-kingdom relationship. This microenvironment called phycosphere has major role in ecosystem productivity can be utilized both bioremediation biomass However, knowledge on effects indigenous growth characteristics bacterial...

The growing concern regarding the use of agricultural land for production biomass food/feed or energy is dictating search alternative sources. Photosynthetic microorganisms grown on marginal deserted present a promising to cultivation plants and thereby may dampen 'food fuel' dispute. Microalgae offer diverse utilization routes.

Introduction Acquired Hemophilia A (AHA) is a rare autoimmune disorder characterized by the emergence of inhibitors that specifically target coagulation Factor VIII, frequently resulting in severe bleeding episodes. Methods We conducted retrospective analysis medical records 68-year-old male patient who presented with adalimumab-induced AHA. Results The received adalimumab, tumor necrosis factor inhibitor antibody, as part his treatment for rheumatoid arthritis. patient’s clinical journey,...

A microalgal biomass offers a potential alternative to the maize silage commonly used in biogas technology. In this study, photoautotrophically grown Scenedesmus obliquus was as substrate. This microalga has low C/N ratio of 8.5 relative optimum 20–30. significant increase ammonium ion content not observed. The methane generated from Sc. proved be higher than that silage, but specific yield lower. Semi-continuous steady production lasted for 2 months. Because thick cell wall obliquus,...

We report the case of long-term persisting rheumatoid arthritis (RA), treated with CD20-CD19 CAR-T when it became associated diffuse large B cell lymphoma (DLBCL), resulting in a sustained drug-free remission preceding RA, as well subsequent DLBCL that formed indication therapy using zamtocabtagene autoleucel, 1-year follow-up. According to our best knowledge, this is first published clinical RA therapy.

Microalgal biomass is an alternative feedstock for biogas production although its C/N ratio usually lower than optimal, therefore co-fermentation recommended. Identification of the core microbiome by metagenome analysis and prediction functional characteristics are essential to make microalgal more sustainable economically feasible. Biogas from photoautotrophically grown Chlorella vulgaris (Ch. vulgaris) (240 mL CH4 g oTS-1) with maize silage (330 has been studied in semi continuous...

Microalgae accumulate bioavailable selenium-containing amino acids (Se-AAs), and these are useful as a food supplement. While this accumulation has been studied in phototrophic algal cultures, little data exists for heterotrophic cultures. We have determined the Se-AAs content, selenium/sulfur (Se/S) substitution rates, overall Se balance photo- Chlorella Laboratory trials revealed that cultures tolerate doses ∼8-fold higher compared to resulting ∼2-3-fold content. In large-scale...
