In this study, the embryonic development of eggs in Mastacembelus mastacembelus (Bank & Solender, 1794) was examined. At same time, possibilities artificial breeding through insemination were investigated. Artificial achieved by mixing mature female and sperm male samples caught with gill nets (22 × 22) Ataturk Dam Lake Turkey. To end, first a Petri dish (100 20), testes cut into small pieces lancet mixture sperm–testes-tissue obtained. The fertilization rate found to be 80%. diameter ranged...

As a preliminary step towards assessing its aquaculture potential, egg development and artificial breeding in shabbout (Barbus grypus Heckel 1843) was studied. Artificial insemination achieved by mixing eggs sperm-testes extract. The fertilization rate 60%. Diameters of fertilized ranged 2.58-2.70 mm. perivitelline space formed 20 min after contained no oil droplets. A blastodisc split two blastomeres nearly equal size 80 first cleavage occurred 4-4.5 h insemination. gastrula stage completed...

In this study, the effects of supplemented inositol on sperm extenders were examined spermatozoa motility rate and duration, total antioxidant oxidant status, apoptotic DNA damage, during post-thaw process Mesopotamian Catfish (Silurus triostegus, H. 1843). The semen was frozen in diluents containing different concentrations (5, 10, 20 40 mg). Increasing levels linearly improved duration significantly (p < 0.05). MDA TOS decreased, however, TAS GSH increased increasing resulted a linear...

Male tortoises are occasionally presented with a prolapsed phallus (penis). The penis is retracted except during mating, trauma, or death; it lies in the ventral floor of cloaca. Euphrates soft-shelled turtle constituted study material. Clinically, necrotic areas were observed. After local anesthesia and analgesia, was inserted into base This case first prolapse male turtle.

Mesopotamian spiny eels, Mastacembelus mastacembelus (Banks & Solender, 1794), were collected from a large dam lake located on the Euphrates River in order to determine most reliable ageing method among different hard structures and estimate growth parameters. Vertebra, otolith, opercle series removed 195 individuals. Vertebrae displayed interpretable annulus formations. Total length ranged 14.4 cm 76.9 total weight 6.0 g 950.0 g. The frequency distribution was significantly between 2 sexes...
