Cardiac myxoma, the most prevalent primary cardiac tumor, is rare. The clinical features of this tumor are principally intracardiac obstruction, extracardiac embolism, and general symptoms including fever, myalgia, arthralgia. Although cutaneous manifestations in patients with myxoma frequent, rare cases, signs have been clues to correct diagnosis. We report a 42-year-old male who presented recurrent multiple purpuric patches on both palms soles for 4 months. Histopathological finding showed...

To test the hypothesis that a longer duration of phase II cardiac rehabilitation is required to recover exercise capacity elderly patients compared younger patients. We retrospectively reviewed and analyzed medical records who were referred our (CR) center underwent percutaneous coronary intervention for acute myocardial infarction (AMI). A total 70 enrolled an tolerance (ETT) 3 weeks after occurrence AMI (T0), 6 first ETT (T1), 12 (T2). Patients older than 65 years assigned group (n=24)...

Cardiovascular disease (CVD) poses a significant health challenge globally, including in Korea, due to its status as leading cause of death and impact on cardiopulmonary function. Cardiac rehabilitation (CR) is well-established program that not only aids restoring function, but also improves physical social conditions. The benefits CR are widely recognized, it implemented globally. While the effectiveness has been proven underutilized. This fact sheet summarizes current prevalence CVD,...

To compare a center-based cardiac rehabilitation (CR) program with home-based CR in terms of improving obesity related index and cardiopulmonary exercise capacity after the completing phase II program. In this study, there were seventy-four patients acute myocardial infarction percutaneous coronary intervention who analyzed. Patients mild to moderate risk (ejection fraction >40%) included group. The underwent an tolerance test by measurement modified Bruce protocol at three assessment...

Diffuse axonal injury (DAI) following sudden acceleration and deceleration can lead to cognitive function decline. Various treatments have been proposed. Repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS), a non-invasive technique, is potential treatment for enhancing neuroplasticity in cases of brain injury. The therapeutic efficacy rTMS on remains unconfirmed. This study investigated the effects underlying molecular biomechanisms using rat model DAI. Sprague–Dawley rats (n = 18) were...

Background: Transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) is a therapeutic tool for improving post-stroke gait disturbances, with ongoing research focusing on specific protocols its application. We evaluated the feasibility of rehabilitation protocol that combines tDCS conventional training. Methods: This was randomized, double-blind, single-center pilot clinical trial. Patients unilateral hemiplegia due to ischemic stroke were randomly assigned either training group or sham group. The...

Prolonged squatting is a well-documented cause of common peroneal neuropathy, wherein the nerve thought to be compressed between biceps femoris tendon and lateral head gastrocnemius muscle or fibular head. However, deep neuropathy resulting from prolonged has not been previously reported. We present case tile installer who developed unilateral following extended squatting, diagnosed through ultrasonography, which identified bilateral division nerves knee joint This underscores value...

Background and Objectives:While the clinical significance of descending thoracic aorta intima-media thickness (DTA-IMT) remains unclear, common carotid IMT (CIMT) is known to be associated with major adverse cardiovascular events (MACE) in patients atherosclerotic disease. Subjects Methods:A total 104 (mean age, 59 yrs; 69 male) angiographically proven coronary atherosclerosis underwent transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) for DTA-IMT measurement scanning CIMT measurement. The were divided...
