We have epitaxially grown Ba0.6Sr0.4TiO3 (BST-0.4) thin films on MgO(001) substrates. By inserting a very Ba1−xSrxTiO3 (x=0.1–0.7) interlayer between the MgO substrate and main layer of BST-0.4, we are able to manipulate degree stress in BST-0.4 films. controlled states, i.e., lattice distortion ratio (D=in-plane constant/out-of-plane constant) by varying chemical composition interlayers. found that small variations D value can result significantly large changes dielectric properties. A film...

Pulsed-laser deposition has been used to grow epitaxial thin films of the giant-dielectric-constant material CaCu_3Ti_4O_{12} on LaAlO_3 and SrTiO_3 substrates with or without various conducting buffer layers. The latter include YBa_2Cu_3O_7, La_{1.85}Sr_{0.15}CuO_{4+\delta} LaNiO_3. Above 100K - 150K have a temperature independent dielectric constant as do single crystals. value is order 1500 over wide region, potentially making it good candidate for many applications. frequency dependence...

Abstract The accuracy of flood forecasts generated using spatially lumped hydrological models can be severely affected by errors in the estimates areal mean rainfall. quality latter depends both on size and type point‐based rainfall measurements, density spatial arrangement rain gauges basin. Here we use error feedback correction, based dynamic system response curve (DSRC) method, to compute updated inputs. method is evaluated via synthetic real‐data cases, showing that works as...

Abstract Daily streamflow modeling is an important tool for water resources management and flood mitigation. This study compared the performance of Xinanjiang (XAJ) model random forests (RF) method in a daily simulation, proposed several hybrid models based on XAJ model, wavelet analysis, RF (including XAJ-RF WRF XAJ-WRF model). The methods were applied to Shiquan station, located Upper Han River basin China. Five measures (NSE, RMSE, PBIAS, MAE, R) adopted evaluate accuracy. Results showed...

Objective We aimed to examine the relationship between weight-adjusted waist index (WWI) and obstructive sleep apnea (OSA), a condition often caused by obesity, which remains unclear. Methods In this cross-sectional study, we analyzed data from National Health Nutrition Examination Survey among adults in United States (US) aged 20 65 years, covering periods 2005 2008 2015 2018. The study included 8278 participants; used multivariate logistic regression, restricted cubic splines, subgroup...

Abstract Error correction method is widely used to improve the performance of flood forecasting. The Dynamic System Response Curve (DSRC) has been proposed as an error hydrological modeling. One critical problems unstable caused by ill‐posed property model structure and inability estimating multiple variables. To address this problem, original DSRC was modified enable capability Using variable forgetting factor recursive least squares algorithm (VFF‐RLS), we improved version (VFF‐RLS‐MDSRC)....

Abstract The dynamic system response curve (DSRC) method has been shown to effectively use error feedback correction obtain updated areal estimates of mean rainfall and thereby improve the accuracy real‐time flood forecasts. In this study, we address two main shortcomings existing method. First, ridge estimation is used deal with ill‐conditioning normal equation coefficient matrix when applied small basins, or length updating series short. Second, effects spatial heterogeneity on are...

The dynamic system response curve (DSRC) is commonly applied as a real-time flood forecasting error correction method to improve the accuracy of forecasting. It has been widely recognized that least squares (OLS/LS) method, employed by DSRC, breaks down ill-posed problems, and therefore, DSRC may lead deterioration in performance caused meaningless solutions. To address this problem, diagnostically theoretical analysis was conducted investigate relationship between numerical solution...
