A discharge-flow system, coupled to cavity-enhanced absorption spectroscopy (CEAS) detection systems for NO3 at lambda=662 nm and NO2 lambda=404 nm, was used investigate the kinetics of reactions with eight peroxy radicals P approximately 5 Torr T 295 K. Values rate constants obtained were (k/10(-12) cm3 molecule-1 s-1): CH3O2 (1.1+/-0.5), C2H5O2 (2.3+/-0.7), CH2FO2 (1.4+/-0.9), CH2ClO2 (3.8(+1.4)(-2.6)), c-C5H9O2 (1.2(+1.1)(-0.5)), c-C6H11O2 (1.9+/-0.7), CF3O2 (0.62+/-0.17) CF3CFO2CF3...

Abstract The hydrocarbon decay method (Rivett et al. , 2003 ) has been used to analyse data from four contrasting sites in the United Kingdom estimate night‐time levels of NO 3 and OH. Remarkably consistent results emerge using alkenes, revealing OH range 0.01–10 ppt 1 × 10 4 − 6 molecule cm −3 respectively. Weak seasonal cycles are observed where peak spring summer. Analysis alkanes suggests that Cl atom around 2 may be present. How formed at night such high quantities is unknown not answer...

The steady state approximation has been applied to the UK National Environment Technology Centre (NETCEN) data at three urban sites in (Marylebone Road London, London Eltham, and Harwell) over period of 1997 2012 estimate concentrations daytime NO 3 . Despite common assertion that levels are negligible day as a consequence photolysis, there occasions where reaches few pptv. A seasonal pattern concentration was observed with higher spring consistent peaks April May. combination temperature...

Abstract. Predicting how European air quality could evolve over the next decades in context of changing climate requires use models to produce results that can be averaged a climatologically and statistically sound manner. This is very different approach from one generally used for hindcasts present period; analysed meteorological fields are represent specifically each date hour. Differences arise both fact model run pure output, with no influence observations (which useful correct range...

Abstract. The reactivity of aromatic compounds is great relevance to pure and applied chemical disciplines, yet existing methods for estimating gas-phase rate coefficients their reactions with free radicals lack accuracy universality. Here a novel approach taken, whereby strong relationships between hydrocarbons Randić-type topological index are investigated, optimized developed into method which requires no specialist software or computing power. Measured the reaction OH were correlated...

Abstract The equilibrium climate sensitivity, that is, the global‐mean surface‐air temperature change in response to a doubling of carbon dioxide concentration is widely used metric studies. Its exact value rarely known because its estimation requires long integration time several thousand years. We propose method estimate an accurate from fully coupled models at reasonable computational cost. Using this method, our state‐of‐the‐art model CNRM‐CM6‐1 reaches stationary state after only few...
