PURPOSE: To investigate the feasibility and clinical response of a stereotactic single-dose radiation treatment for liver tumors. PATIENTS AND METHODS: Between April 1997 September 1999, 60 tumors (four primary tumors, 56 metastases) in 37 patients was performed. Patients were positioned an individually shaped vacuum pillow. The applied dose escalated from 14 to 26 Gy (reference point), with 80% isodose surrounding planning target volume. Median tumor size 10 cm 3 (range, 1 132 ). morbidity,...

PURPOSE Evaluation of the treatment outcome after radiosurgery (RS) alone or in combination with whole-brain radiotherapy (WBRT) special attention to prescribed dose and its influence on local control survival. PATIENTS AND METHODS Between September 1984 January 1997, 236 patients 311 brain metastases treated met following inclusion criteria: one three per patient; no previous WBRT; Kamofsky performance status (KPS) > = 50%. One hundred fifty-eight only RS received a median 20 Gy 80%...

The aim of the present study is to evaluate impact metastases-directed stereotactic body radiotherapy in two groups oligometastatic prostate cancer (PC) patients: oligorecurrent PC and oligoprogressive castration-resistant (oligo-CRPC). Inclusion criteria multicentre retrospective analysis were: (1) PC, defined as presence 1–3 lesions (bone or nodes) detected with choline positron emission tomography CT plus bone scan following biochemical recurrence; (2) oligo-CRPC, metastases after a...

The results in terms of side effects vary among the published accelerated partial-breast irradiation (APBI) studies. Here, we report 5-year for cosmetic outcomes and toxicity IRMA trial. We ran this randomized phase III trial 35 centers. Women with stage I-IIA breast cancer treated breast-conserving surgery, age ≥ 49 years, were randomly assigned 1:1 to receive either whole-breast (WBI) or external beam radiation therapy APBI (38.5 Gy/10 fraction twice daily). Patients investigators not...
