Chikungunya is an arboviral disease caused by a virus with wide geographical distribution in endemic areas. This case report documents patient antisynthetase syndrome post-chikungunya infection. Autoimmune diseases result from breakdown of immune tolerance. Among all triggers, viruses represent the greatest environmental potential to precipitate inflammatory myopathy.
ABSTRACT Evans syndrome (ES) is a rare autoimmune disease of unknown etiology. ES occurs when there combination hemolytic anemia (AIHA) with thrombocytopenia, whether or not accompanied by immune neutropenia. This fits into special variable type warm AHAI and may be related to rheumatic diseases, such as systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). Its pathogenesis still far away fully understood. Direct Coombs test results are positive in 98% cases. treatment required the due hemolysis intense,...
CONCLUSIONTo our knowledge this is the first case of post-chikungunya infection antisynthetase syndrome characterized by quadriplegia, interstitial lung disease and positive anti-Jo-1.The chikungunya was two months before it likely a trigger for development autoimmunity. Therefore, further research suggested to consolidate correlation between autoimmune inflammatory myopathy.
CONCLUSIONThe authors conclude that even in remission, light of the chronicity disease, patient with SLE can develop important neurological alterations, such as obstructive hydrocephalus. We stress importance not overlooking headaches and any new symptoms, aiming at early diagnosis medical intervention. We emphasize relevance clinical suspicion, detailed anamnesis, meticulous physical examination for a meaningful evaluation possible complications SLE.Early this condition adequate treatment...

Ethnicity is an impacting factor in prognosis both isolated systemic sclerosis (SS) and SS overlap syndromes (OS-SS).Afro-descendants have more severity worse than white people. There are no studies comparing whites Afrodescendants with OS Brazil. The present study aims to compare profile of Afro-descendant patients OS-SS followed at the Rheumatology Service University Hospital Cassiano Antônio Moraes.
BACKGROUNDIn the setting of pandemic scenario caused by COVID-19, several studies were published in search an effective vaccine. However, there are few literature that assess safety COVID-19 vaccine patients with autoimmune diseases (AID).In this context, present study aims to evaluate during 28 days after first dose against AID.
