Chikungunya is an arboviral disease caused by a virus with wide geographical distribution in endemic areas. This case report documents patient antisynthetase syndrome post-chikungunya infection. Autoimmune diseases result from breakdown of immune tolerance. Among all triggers, viruses represent the greatest environmental potential to precipitate inflammatory myopathy.

CONCLUSIONTo our knowledge this is the first case of post-chikungunya infection antisynthetase syndrome characterized by quadriplegia, interstitial lung disease and positive anti-Jo-1.The chikungunya was two months before it likely a trigger for development autoimmunity.Therefore, further research suggested to consolidate correlation between autoimmune inflammatory myopathy.
