The spatial distribution of the reflected radiation by solar materials is a really important characteristic to be measured in order obtain realistic optical simulation systems. However, most instruments measure hemispherical component flux from materials. This study presents new equipment composed semi-sphere with 62 detectors which reflectance any material used first tests and checking this instrument have been presented paper.
The certification of large-size Linear Fresnel Reflector (LFR) or variable geometry collectors is possible through international standards ISO 9806 and IEC 62862-5-2. However, those concentrating solar have a design that makes it more complicated to test in an accredited permanent laboratory. So, the most common way accredit products on-site testing. In this study, one LFR boosted Evacuated Tube Collector (ETC) with lateral reflectors were tested in-site according standard 9806.
For the development and establishment of concentrating solar thermal collectors a reliable comparable performance testing evaluation is great importance. To ensure consistent in area low- temperature widely accepted commonly used international standard (ISO 9806:2013) already available. In contrast to this, ISO 9806:2013 has not completely penetrated sector yet. On that account detailed literature review been performed on published procedures methodologies as well existing standards. The...
Solar thermal technology for the production on electricity is one of current technological challenges. In concentrating solar power (CSP) plants, in order to achieve high it required use a operating temperature reach conversion efficiencies. The majority today's commercial plants are based parabolic trough collector with around 400 °C. However, tower used maximize efficiency CSP plants. This reaches an higher than 1000 °C and development receivers that work this ranges still its early...
The mining industry represents more than half of Chile's foreign exchange earnings and its increasing expansion will demand a continuous development energy supplies. Mostly, all the mines in Chile are located desert regions, having large surface with one highest solar radiations levels clearest skies world. Covering industry's is thus an obvious promising approach. In this paper, implementation thermal heating studied every process electricity generation for entire mine considered as well....
Mirrors are the first link in energy-conversion chain from Sun to electricity-delivery grid. Shape and solar reflectance key-parameters of mirrors, respectively affecting how radiation is concentrated around focus, much impinging power reflected. In SolarPACES Task III, an expert group drafting guidelines; order speed up discussion SRRR round robin was launched at beginning 2013. Identical kits, each one consisting ten specimens collected eight cooperating producers, were distributed...
Today Spain is still the worldwide leader in use of Concentrating Solar Power (CSP) technology with more than 2300 MW installed solar thermal power rated 2015, compared to 4600 worldwide. In order improve quality current plants and require best for future plants, subcommittee SC 117 "Thermoelectric Energy Systems", which part committee AEN/CTN 206 electricity production, works on different aspects since 2010. This paper gives an overview state publications draft qualify performance...
The most relevant parameter to properly characterize solar mirrors is the solar-weighted near-specular reflectance. As this cannot be directly measured with off-the-shelf instruments, a simplified procedure applied for highly specular proposed in paper. approach, based on two criteria, was experimentally employed check wide variety of reflector materials. Only those known high specularity passed indicating that method suitable.
This paper presents a summary of the testing procedure and validation methodology parabolic trough collector in solar thermal power plants. The applied is one proposed within Spanish standardization sub-committee AEN/CTN 206/SC117 working group WG2 related to components for also international committee IEC TC 117 (Standard draft 62862-3-2 Ed. 1.0). study done at Plataforma Solar de Almería (PSA) Almeria European project STAGE-STE. results optical efficiency large-size collector. obtained...
Durability tests of reflector materials for concentrating solar applications are crucial to guarantee the profitability plants and ensure a proper efficiency during their lifetime. A standard including set five accelerated aging is close be published by Spanish standardization entity AENOR, within sub-committee AEN/CTN 206/SC117. Under framework STAGE-STE project, Round Robin Test was organized six partners evaluate comparability results obtained in respective laboratories after performing...
The solar tracking system is a device which orientates concentrating systems in order to allow the focusing of radiation on receiver along day. accuracy tracker key parameter when compared acceptance angle concentrator maximize optical efficiency. Taars heating plant was put into operation Denmark summer 2015 with PTC field. 6 rows has been studied.
Solar thermal energy is able to provide a considerable fraction of the medium temperature demand and should be more widely used in several specific industry sectors range between 100 °C 250 °C. For collection within this range, solar collector designs usually use optical concentration its increasing capability for integration buildings. In last decades various new have been developed specifically industrial applications (state-of-the-art IEA SHC Task 33/SolarPACES IV on Heat Industrial...
In this study the impact of considering angle dependent optical properties for analyzing performance a parabolic-trough collector (PTC) is presented. It intends to address realistic behavior when simulating efficiencies and Incidence modifier (IAM).For purpose real characterization in laboratory materials PTC prototype as function incidence was performed (reflectance transmittance). The has been done under SFERA III program framework at CEA facilities. In second stage an analysis using ray...
