Objective The aim of the study was to evaluate interobserver agreement and diagnostic accuracy COVID-19 Reporting Data System (CO-RADS), in patients suspected pneumonia. Methods Two hundred nine nonenhanced chest computed tomography images with clinically pneumonia were included. evaluated by 2 groups observers, consisting residents-radiologists, using CO-RADS. Reverse transcriptase–polymerase chain reaction (PCR) used as a reference standard for diagnosis this study. Sensitivity,...
Actinomyces species may lead to slowly progressive infection of almost any site once mucosal breakdown exists; hence, it has the name "great pretender." Its diagnosis be unthinkable unless proper cultures/histologies are taken. We describe a patient with lumbar spondylodiscitis and epidural abscess. This is an exceptional another disease by actinomycosis.
Computed tomography images of the subdural and epidural hematoma are well defined, crescent lentiform shapes, respectively. However, it has been reported that both them might mimic each other in rare instances. Literature reveals seven reports mimicking epidural. We reporting a new case radiologically, which occurred after evacuation chronic with burr-hole 75 years old man.
Introduction. Renal cell carcinoma (RCC) is the most common malignant renal tumor in adults accounting for 80-90% of primary adult neoplasms. RCC represents a very heterogenous groups tumors with number distinct histological varieties, which major 3 subtypes are clear (70-80%), papillary (13-20%), and chromophobe (5%). Imaging features varied from solid relatively homogenous appearance to markedly cystic changes, hemorrhage necrosis. The use diffusion weighted imaging (DWI) subtyping also...
Introduction and aim. Multinodular vacuolating neuronal tumor (MVNT) of the cerebrum is a rare benign, mixed glial/ lesion which has been included in recent (2016) World Health Organization (WHO) Classification central nervous system tumors. Most reported cases are remarkable with adult onset seizure literature. They can also be found incidentally nonepilepsy patients or without headache We aimed to present this unique entity its typical magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) features. Description...
Objective: Various chest computed tomography (CT) manifestations of coronavirus disease-2019 (COVID-19) pneumonia have been reported in immunocompetent patients. In immunodeficient patients, the clinical and CT imaging findings may differ from usual patterns cause mistakes diagnosis management. We evaluated patients with immunosuppression various causes to compare those seen patients. Methods: Forty-four 44 positive real-time reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction test for severe acute...
Introduction and aim. We aimed to evaluate the usefulness of dynamic contrast-enhanced (DCE) MRI semiquantitative analysis values in focal liver lesions (FLL) provide additional qualities that can be used daily practice differential diagnosis lesions. Material methods. This retrospective study included 91 patients with masses on DCE-MRI. The sensitivity specificity time intensity curves (TIC) were evaluated differentiate benign malignant Results. (376 lesions), aged between 28-81 years. Of...
Abstract Objective To search for any morphological variation contributing to aetiopathogenesis and the diagnosis of benign paroxysmal positional vertigo, we measured sizes semicircular canals in patients with without vertigo using multidetector computed tomography. Methods Cranial bone tomography images 30 control were acquired a 128-slice scanner transverse plane thickness 0.67 mm. The inner diameter, height width measured. Results anterior canals, posterior affected ears ( n = 30)...
Introduction and aim. Non-ketotic hyperglycemia (NKHG), also known as hyperosmolar hyperglycemic state (HHS) is a serious metabolic complication of diabetes mellitus (DM).The mortality rate can be up to 20% this much more higher than that diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA). It usually precipitated by an event such pulmonary/urinary infection, myocardial infarction (MI) or stroke. In derangements, central nervous system (CNS) manifestations including altered mental status with without focal...
ntroduction and aim. We aimed to assess the usefulness of diffusion weighted imaging (DWI) apparent coefficients (ADCs) for characterizing renal masses. Material method. In this retrospective study we measured ADC values masses at b=0, b=500 b=1000. Measurements were made by placing a circular region interest with diameter 1 cm.ADC from normal parenchyma taken define compare lesions. Results. A total 72 lesions 54 patients included.40 benign 32 malignant. The both b significantly higher than...
Primary vascular lesions are classified as neoplasms and malformations (VMs).Venous VM is the most frequent type of VMs with a prevalence approximately 1% common venous anomaly in head neck region after hemangioma, but rarely encountered skull base.An expansile growth pattern noted permeation into tissue spaces by adjacent structure invasion, thus presenting multicompartmental occupation, our case.Presented herein case 12-year-old female patient complaining left orbital swelling an...
Orbital lymphomas (OLs) account for 2% of all and only 1% non-Hodgkin's lymphoma (NHL).However, in patients >60 years age, are the most common primary orbital tumor. The majority cases primary, low-grade, B-cell, NHL.The sub-type is extranodal marginal-zone B-cell mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue (MALT) type lymphomas.OLs other than MALT have different histologies, with diffuse, large, being relatively common. The presentation OL variable based on involved part orbit.Accurate diffferentiation...
