Informal groups of proposed for the first time. Distribution ranges habitat preferences mapped.
During various expeditions to Laos between 2003 and 2012 one expedition Myanmar in 2014, spiders of the family Nesticidae were collected inside outside caves. This was first time this encountered Laos. All specimens belong genus Nesticella Lehtinen & Saaristo, 1980. Four species have been recognized as being new science, which are described paper: beccus n. sp. (male, female; LAOS: Bolikhamsay Province, Luang Prabang Huaphan Khammouan THAILAND: Mae Hong Son Province), laotica Vientiane...
A new species of the genus Otacilia Thorell, 1897 is described from northern Vietnam: O. fansipan spec. nov. It represents second recorded that country. Special papillae are found on surface spermathecae, their function unknown. distribution map presented with all records genus, a first attempt to explain its biogeography.
Significance It is not known whether the fossil content of amber accurately represents arthropod biodiversity past forests, and if how those fossils can be compared with recent fauna for studies predictions change through time. Our study arthropods (mainly insects spiders) living around resinous angiosperm tree Hymenaea verrucosa Gaertner, 1791 in lowland coastal forest Madagascar, trapped by resin produced this species, demonstrates that does record true entire forest. However, our results...
A new genus of the family Sparassidae is described from Madagascar: Thunberga gen. nov. It can be distinguished other genera Heteropodinae by its different cheliceral dentition and eye arrangement as well uniquely dotted prosoma. Four species are transferred to genus: T. hildebrandti (Järvi, 1912) comb. (from Rhitymna Simon, 1897a), malagassa (Strand, 1907) Olios Walckenaer, 1837), nossibeensis Olios), septifer (Strand. 1908) Olios, elevated rank). recognised junior synonym One for first...

Abstract Pisauridae Simon, 1890 or “nursery web spiders” are a global and heterogenous assemblage of spider genera with diverse lifestyles, containing builders webless species, as well terrestrial semi-aquatic notably “fishing spiders”, genus Dolomedes Latreille, 1804. Incomplete, unresolved, conflicting phylogenies have so far hampered testing for pisaurid monophyly evolution. Here, we broadly address these questions within phylogenomic comparative framework. Our goals i) reconstruction...
