Recent studies have shown that sleep apnea-specific intermittent hypoxemia quantified by the hypoxic burden (HB) predicted cardiovascular disease (CVD)-related mortality in community-based and clinical cohorts. Calculation of HB is based on manual scoring hypopneas apneas, which time-consuming prone to interscorer variability.

To determine whether obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) severity and/or biomarkers of inflammation/angiogenesis are associated with incident cancer in this clinical cohort.

Rationale: Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) severity is typically assessed by the apnea-hypopnea index (AHI), a frequency-based metric that allocates equal weight to all respiratory events. However, more severe events may have greater physiologic impact. Objective: The purpose of this study was determine whether degree event-related hypoxemia would be associated with post-event response. Methods: OSA patients (AHI>5/h) from multi-center Canadian Sleep and Circadian Network cohort were studied....

Ninety-six male goslings were allocated and assigned to treatment using a completely randomized design. Dietary treatments included basal diet consisting of corn, wheat, soybean meal with either no additional selenium (CON), 0.3 mg/kg inorganic (I-Se; sodium selenite), or organic (O-Se; selenium-enriched yeast). After 56-day feeding period, geese slaughtered on common ending day two per pen (n = 24) used for the analyses conducted in this study. Meat (equal portions breast thigh meat) liver...

Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) is associated with cognitive impairment; however, the underlying mechanisms remain incompletely understood. OSA characterized by periods of interrupted ventilation ("ventilatory burden (VB)"), leading to hypoxemia ("hypoxic (HB)") and/or arousal ("arousal (AB)") from sleep. While considered a key mechanism white matter injury, its measurement has been limited. In our primary analysis, we assessed association HB, quantitative measure hypoxemia, hyperintensity volume (WMH

High-precision applications require stable operating environments for the components, with temperature stability often being most critical requirement. Existing methods control rely on a combination of device level (i.e., on-die) and system board enclosure) shielding to achieve necessary stability. However, device-level solutions offer little post-fabrication flexibility, board/enclosure-level add bulk power consumption. Herein, we demonstrate simple, widely applicable method using...
