The role of ventral hippocampus (vHipp) astroglial gliotransmission in depression was studied using chronic restraint stress (CRS) and unpredictable mild (CUMS) rodent models. CRS increased Cx43 hemichannel activity extracellular glutamate levels the vHipp blocking hemichannel-dependent during prevented development buildup. Moreover, acute blockade hemichannels induced antidepressant effects rats previously subjected to or CUMS. This effect by coinjection D-serine. Furthermore, decreased...

Gastroparesis has a significant negative impact on patients' quality of life. Only one medication is approved for gastroparesis and it associated with risk side effects. To assess the willingness patients to take risks medications treat symptoms. We developed questionnaire risk-taking behaviour in identified as having documented (consistent symptoms, normal upper endoscopy, delayed gastric emptying). The survey assessed demographics, use, anxiety, depression impulsivity. A standard reference...

We describe the construction of a large-scale, orderly assembly mutant ES cells, generated with retroviral insertions and having mutational coverage in >90% mouse genes. also method for isolating cell clones mutations specific genes interest from this library. This approach, which combines saturating random mutagenesis targeted selection interest, was successfully applied to gene families G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs) nuclear receptors. Mutant strains 60 different GPCRs were generated....

Signet-ring cell carcinoma is a rare adenocarcinoma, predominantly affecting the stomach and ovaries. Primary sites elsewhere are rarer. It recognized that there an increased cancer risk with diagnosis of Crohn's disease. We report patient disease who was diagnosed signet-ring in setting flare. Diagnosis made endoscopy. Treatment included laparoscopic-assisted right hemicolectomy ileostomy subsequent chemotherapy as outpatient.

ABSTRACT BACKGROUND AND AIMS Evaluation for dyssynergia is the most common reason that gastroenterologists refer patients anorectal manometry, because amenable to biofeedback by physical therapists. High-definition manometry (3D-HDAM) a promising technology evaluate physiology, but adoption remains limited its sheer complexity. We developed 3D-HDAM deep learning algorithm dyssynergia. METHODS Spatial-temporal data were extracted from consecutive studies performed between 2018-2020 at...

Introduction: The gastroesophageal reflux disease questionnaire (GerdQ) is a validated designed to identify patients presenting primary care office with (GERD). In study of tertiary center for wireless pH testing, the GerdQ was found have only modest sensitivity and specificity. goal this revise better diagnose group high percentage poor response proton pump inhibitors (PPI), also known as refractory GERD. Methods: Demographics, scores, functional GI symptoms were obtained from 115...

Introduction: Treating gastroparesis (GP) can be difficult as there is only one FDA approved medication for the treatment of GP and it associated with side effects in a substantial portion patients. The willingness patients to take risks medications treat unknown. Aims: To evaluate documented assess their used GP. Methods: A questionnaire was developed, revised after focus group patients, mailed previously identified having (those symptoms consistent GP, normal EGD, delayed 4 hour gastric...
