Abstract Background Lung ultrasound has demonstrated its usefulness in several respiratory diseases management. One derived score, the Ultrasound (LUS) is considered a good outcome predictor patients with Acute Respiratory Failure (ARF). Nevertheless, it not been tested undergoing non-invasive support (NIRS). Taking this into account, aim of study to evaluate LUS score as 90-day mortality, ETI (Endotracheal intubation) and HFNC (High Flow Nasal Cannula) failure ARF due COVID-19 admitted...

BACKGROUND:
The roles of high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC) and CPAP in coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) are controversial. objective the study was to evaluate impact application a noninvasive respiratory support algorithm on clinical outcomes subjects with COVID-19 acute failure.
METHODS:
We performed single-center prospective observational failure from managed HFNC plus (combined therapy). main outcome intubation rate, which defined therapy. also analyzed role ROX index...

The aim of this study was to evaluate if Hyperventilation (HV) could avoid the Intracranial Pressure (ICP) peak that occurs during Fiberoptic Bronchoscopy (FB) in severely head injured patients. A Cerebral Perfusion (CPP) > 75 mmHg maintained 34 patients, with a subgroup randomized receive controlled HV FB. Measurements were done before procedure, maximum ICP values and 30 minutes after group had minor FB, without differences CPP values.
