Purpose As the field of CEST grows, various novel preparation periods using different parameters are being introduced. At same time, large, multisite clinical studies require clearly defined protocols, especially across vendors. Here, we propose a definition standard open Pulseq format for shareable, simple, and exact protocols. Methods We present benefits such in three ways: (1) an database on GitHub, where fully defined, human‐readable protocols can be shared; (2) open‐source...

Abstract The draining-vein bias of T2*-weighted sequences, like gradient echo echo-planar imaging (GRE-EPI), can limit the spatial specificity functional MRI (fMRI). underlying extravascular signal changes increase with field strength (B0) and perpendicularity draining veins to main axis B0, are therefore particularly problematic at ultra-high (UHF). In contrast, simulations showed that T2-weighted sequences less affected by bias, depending on amount rephasing signal. As large pial cortical...

Recently, we proposed a framework for automatized, model-free MR sequence design contrast generation. The concept was proven by optimizing the contrast-generating using real MRI scanner scanning model solutions repeatedly until convergence to target. In this work, demonstrate first time that live optimization loop can also be used directly on subject’s brain. As an example, GM/WM GRE optimized fully automatically in and reference-free manner healthy subject at 3T scanner.
