Based on anecdotal and observational evidence, we hypothesized that the prevalence of cervical musculoskeletal disorder (C-MSD) would be high among plastic surgeons. A questionnaire review was undertaken to test this hypothesis. Ergonomic assessment assess causal factors C-MSD.An anonymous recording demographics, physical symptoms behavioral responses C-MSD distributed UK Plastic Surgery consultants. The postural impact wearing loupes assessed using motion capture techniques muscular...
Three colonized species of the Anopheles culicifacies complex (species A, B and C) were compared with stephensi (control) for susceptibility to Plasmodium vivax. In feeding experiments involving over 400 paired comparisons, mean number oocysts, oocyst rate sporozoite found be significantly different. Of test groups, A had highest percentage mosquitoes oocysts (>60%) sporozoites (>50%). An. least susceptible, less than 5% 2% in salivary glands. The results are discussed light vectorial...
The comparative susceptibilities of colonized species A, B, and C Anopheles culicifacies complex stephensi were determined for 2 rodent malaria parasites Plasmodium vinckei petteri yoelii yoelii. All the 3 members found to support complete sporogony with varying success. Controls, A. stephensi, become readily infected, >70% developing oocysts. Of test groups, A had highest percentage mosquitoes oocysts (>25%) sporozoites (>15%). B least susceptible; less than 10% in salivary glands. results...
About 200 cases of blue rubber bleb nevus syndrome (BRBNS) have been reported in the literature. The disorder affects both sexes equally and occurrence is mostly sporadic except for a few reports with autosomal dominant inheritance pattern. Herein we report an 11-year-old girl progressive BRBNS onset at 5 years age.
