Abstract Background Immune checkpoint inhibitors have changed the paradigm of cancer treatment; however, non-invasive biomarkers response are still needed to identify candidates for non-responders. We aimed investigate whether immunotherapy [ 18 F]FDG PET radiomics signature (iRADIOMICS) predicts metastatic non-small-cell lung (NSCLC) patients pembrolizumab better than current clinical standards. Patients and methods Thirty receiving were scanned with PET/CT at baseline, month 1 4....

Abstract The first clinical studies on the use of electrochemotherapy to treat liver tumours that were not amenable surgery or thermal ablation techniques have recently been published. However, there is still a lack data effects normal tissue. Therefore, we designed translational animal model study test whether with bleomycin causes clinically significant damage tissue, emphasis large blood vessels and bile ducts. We performed delivered electric pulses alone using potentially risky treatment...

In all patients, at least one metastasis due its central location or a too-small future remnant volume. Patients treated by using intravenously administered bleomycin during open surgery. Abstract Background Radiologic findings after electrochemotherapy of large hepatic blood vessels and healthy parenchyma have not yet been described. Materials methods We performed a prospective animal model study with regulatory approval, including nine grower pigs. In each animal, four ultrasound-guided electroporated regions were created; in three regions, electrodes inserted into the lumen vessels. Two types tested; variable linear- fixed hexagonal-geometry electrodes. Ultrasonographic...

For locally advanced rectal cancer (LARC), standard therapy [consisting of neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy (CRT), surgery, and adjuvant chemotherapy (ChT)] achieves excellent local control. Unfortunately, survival is still poor due to distant metastases, which remains the leading cause death among these patients. In recent years, concept total treatment (TNT) has been developed, whereby all systemic ChT-mainly affecting micrometastases-is applied prior surgery. To compare for LARC patients with...

Endoscopic colorectal tattooing with carbon-based dyes is commonly employed in order to assist later localization of the lesion. Abstract BAP1 cancer syndrome is a rare and highly penetrant hereditary predisposition. Uveal melanoma, mesothelioma, renal cell carcinoma (RCC) cutaneous melanoma are considered core cancers, whereas association with breast has previously been suggested but not confirmed so far. In view of immunomodulatory functions, alterations could prove useful as possible biomarkers response to immunotherapy in patients BAP1-associated cancers. We present case patient who developed metastatic loss...
