To reduce the number of deaths caused by exsanguination, initial management severe trauma aims to prevent, if not limit, lethal triad, which consists acidosis, coagulopathy, and hypothermia. Recently, several studies have suggested adding hypocalcemia triad form diamond, but evidence supporting this change is limited. Therefore, aim study was compare diamond for their respective associations with 24-h mortality in patients receiving transfusion. We performed a multicenter retrospective...

Background Mechanical ventilation, a crucial intervention for acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), can lead to ventilator-induced lung injury (VILI). This study focuses on individualizing mechanical power (MP) in mechanically ventilated patients minimize VILI and reduce ICU mortality. Methods A retrospective analysis was conducted using the Amsterdam University Medical Centers Database (AmsterdamUMCdb) data. The included aged 18 older who needed at least 48 hours of...

Abstract Background Critically ill patients in intensive care units (ICUs) require continuous monitoring, generating vast amounts of data. Clinical decision support systems (CDSS) leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) technologies have shown promise improving diagnostic, prognostic, and therapeutic decision-making. However, these models are rarely implemented clinical practice. Objective The aim this study was to survey ICU physicians understand their expectations, opinions, level...

Electronic health records (EHRs, such as those created by an anesthesia management system) generate a large amount of data that can notably be reused for clinical audits and scientific research. The sharing these tools is generally affected the lack system interoperability. To overcome issues, Observational Health Data Sciences Informatics (OHDSI) developed Medical Outcomes Partnership (OMOP) common model (CDM) to standardize EHR promote large-scale observational longitudinal Anesthesia have...

ABSTRACT Purpose: Veno-arterial Extracoporeal Membrane Oxygenation (VA-ECMO) provides circulatory assistance for patients in cardiogenic shock. Large quantities of fluids are often required, especially during the early stages, but can result a potentially harmful fluid-overload. The objective was to determine association fluid-balance and mortality. Methods: Retrospective single-center study 101 VA-ECMO between 2013 2016. Daily weight changes over 5 first days were observed. Analyses...

Bacterial infections are frequent triggers for diabetic ketoacidosis. In this context, delayed antibiotic treatment is associated with increased morbidity and mortality. Unnecessary administration of antimicrobial therapy might however, also negatively impact the prognosis. The usefulness sepsis markers in ketoacidosis has not been assessed. Thus, we sought to investigate diagnostic performances clinical biological during ketoacidosis. In monocentric retrospective cohort study, all...
