To reduce the number of deaths caused by exsanguination, initial management severe trauma aims to prevent, if not limit, lethal triad, which consists acidosis, coagulopathy, and hypothermia. Recently, several studies have suggested adding hypocalcemia triad form diamond, but evidence supporting this change is limited. Therefore, aim study was compare diamond for their respective associations with 24-h mortality in patients receiving transfusion. We performed a multicenter retrospective...
Background Mechanical ventilation, a crucial intervention for acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), can lead to ventilator-induced lung injury (VILI). This study focuses on individualizing mechanical power (MP) in mechanically ventilated patients minimize VILI and reduce ICU mortality. Methods A retrospective analysis was conducted using the Amsterdam University Medical Centers Database (AmsterdamUMCdb) data. The included aged 18 older who needed at least 48 hours of...
Abstract Background Critically ill patients in intensive care units (ICUs) require continuous monitoring, generating vast amounts of data. Clinical decision support systems (CDSS) leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) technologies have shown promise improving diagnostic, prognostic, and therapeutic decision-making. However, these models are rarely implemented clinical practice. Objective The aim this study was to survey ICU physicians understand their expectations, opinions, level...
Background Critical care teams are on the front line of managing COVID-19 pandemic, which is stressful for members these teams. Objective Our objective was to assess whether use social networks associated with increased anxiety related pandemic among critical Methods We distributed a web-based survey physicians, residents, registered and auxiliary nurses, nurse anesthetists providing (anesthesiology, intensive care, or emergency medicine) in several French hospitals. The evaluated...
Electronic health records (EHRs, such as those created by an anesthesia management system) generate a large amount of data that can notably be reused for clinical audits and scientific research. The sharing these tools is generally affected the lack system interoperability. To overcome issues, Observational Health Data Sciences Informatics (OHDSI) developed Medical Outcomes Partnership (OMOP) common model (CDM) to standardize EHR promote large-scale observational longitudinal Anesthesia have...
ABSTRACT Purpose: Veno-arterial Extracoporeal Membrane Oxygenation (VA-ECMO) provides circulatory assistance for patients in cardiogenic shock. Large quantities of fluids are often required, especially during the early stages, but can result a potentially harmful fluid-overload. The objective was to determine association fluid-balance and mortality. Methods: Retrospective single-center study 101 VA-ECMO between 2013 2016. Daily weight changes over 5 first days were observed. Analyses...
Decision-making in trauma patients remains challenging and often results deviation from guidelines. Machine-Learning (ML) enhanced decision-support could improve hemorrhage resuscitation. To develop a ML decision support tool to predict Need for Hemorrhage Resuscitation (NHR) (part I) test the collection of predictor variables real time smartphone app II). Development model registry NHR relying exclusively on prehospital predictors. Several models imputation techniques were tested. Assess...
Bacterial infections are frequent triggers for diabetic ketoacidosis. In this context, delayed antibiotic treatment is associated with increased morbidity and mortality. Unnecessary administration of antimicrobial therapy might however, also negatively impact the prognosis. The usefulness sepsis markers in ketoacidosis has not been assessed. Thus, we sought to investigate diagnostic performances clinical biological during ketoacidosis. In monocentric retrospective cohort study, all...
With the generalization of social network use by health care workers, we observe emergence breaches in medical confidentiality. Our objective was to determine, among anesthesiology and intensive rate confidentiality professional tweets. We performed a retrospective analysis public Twitter data available through official application program interface. The profiles professionals were identified thanks keywords their biography. All tweets with photograph all text-only containing at least one...
Intensive care units (ICUs) provide for critical patients at high risk of morbidity and mortality, require continuous monitoring clinical, biological and, imaging parameters. Collaborative ventures have enabled the emergence large open access databases secondary use Electronic Health Records (EHRs). The objective this work was to evaluate availability scripts datasets in publications based on ICU open-access databases. We included 910 original articles four (Amsterdam University Medical...
Social media (SoMe) have taken a major place in the medical field, and younger generations are increasingly using them as their primary source to find information.
Hyperoxemia may be associated with increased mortality in emergency room or ICU patients. However, its effect during septic shock is still debated. To evaluate the of hyperoxemia on mortality, first 24 h stay, mechanically ventilated patients according to SEPSIS-3 criteria.A retrospective cohort study admissions recorded Medical Information Mart for Intensive Care-III, a database, was performed. Two oxygen exposures were compared: average PaO2 (TWA-PaO2) between 70 and 120 mmHg normoxemia...
Background Despite the many opportunities data reuse offers, its implementation presents difficulties, and raw cannot be reused directly. Information is not always directly available in source database needs to computed afterwards with for defining an algorithm. Objective The main purpose of this article present a standardized description steps transformations required during feature extraction process when conducting retrospective observational studies. A secondary objective identify how...

Abstract Background The development of Clinical Data Warehouses (CDWs) has greatly increased access to big data in medical research. However, the lack standardization among different models hampers interoperability and, consequently, research potential these vast resources. Moreover, manipulation and analysis require advanced programming skills, a skill set that healthcare professionals often lack. Methods To address issues, we created an open source, low-code collaborative science platform...
This study assesses the effectiveness of Observational Medical Outcomes Partnership common data model (OMOP CDM) in standardising Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT) from intensive care units (ICU) two French university hospitals. Our objective was to extract and standardise various sources, enabling development predictive models for CRRT weaning that are agnostic data’s origin. Data 1,696 ICU stays sources were extracted, transformed, loaded into OMOP format after semantic alignment...
This paper presents the development of a visualization dashboard for quality indicators in intensive care units (ICUs), using Observational Medical Outcomes Partnership (OMOP) Common Data Model (CDM). The enables user to visualize indicator data histograms, pie charts and tables. Our project uses OMOP CDM, ensuring seamless implementation our across various hospitals. Future directions research include expanding incorporate additional evaluating clinicians’ feedback on its effectiveness.
