Label-free homogeneous optical detection of low concentration oligonucleotides using graphene oxide in complex solutions containing proteins remains difficult. We used a colloidal (GO) as fluorescent probe quencher to detect microRNA-21 spiked-in cell culture medium, overcoming previously reported problematic aspects protein interference with oxide. “turn off” assay for specific quenching-based oligo DNA-microRNA hybridization solution. A fluorescein conjugated 30-mer single-stranded DNA...

By using molecular dynamics, this study evaluates and compares the diffusion coefficients of CH4, CO2, H2, N2 O2 gas molecules through a polysulfone / carbon nanotube, graphene nanotube-graphene composite membranes. Mechanical properties composites were assessed by performing virtual traction tests Youngs moduli exhibits values between 2.59 GPa for membrane 3.87 membrane. The latter is found to exhibit superior permeability mechanical properties, making it promising device separation.

Hydrogen fuel cells rely on the purity of hydrogen gas for maintaining a high performance. This study investigates novel nanostructure design its effectiveness in separating H2 molecules from mixture gases containing H2, CH4, CO2, N2, CO and H2O using Molecular Dynamics simulations. Based an open-ended (28, 0) rotating carbon nanotube with one nanocone at each two extremes, this device is predicted through simulations to be able separate contained within. The nanocones were placed their tips...
