Aim To report on outcomes of gonioscopy-assisted transluminal trabeculotomy (GATT) in eyes with pseudoexfoliative glaucoma (PXG). Methods Prospective, interventional, non-comparative case series. A total 103 from 84 patients PXG were enrolled to undergo a 360-degree ab interno gonioscopic assistance using either 5.0 polypropylene suture or an illuminated microcatheter up 24 months follow-up. Main outcome measures intraocular pressure (IOP), number antiglaucoma medications, success rate (IOP...

Broad-band (ultraviolet to near-infrared) observations of the intense gamma ray burst GRB 990123 started ∼8.5 hours after event and continued until 18 February 1999. When combined with other data, in particular from Robotic Telescope Transient Source Experiment (ROTSE) Hubble Space (HST), evidence emerges for a smoothly declining light curve, suggesting some color dependence that could be related cooling break passing ultraviolet-optical band at about 1 day high-energy event. The steeper...

We present optical photometry and spectroscopy of the X-ray transient XTE J1859+226, obtained during outburst its subsequent decay to quiescence. Both properties are very similar those well-studied black hole soft transients. have detected three mini-outbursts, when J1859+226 was approaching quiescence, as has been previously in transients GRO J0422+32 GRS 1009–45. By 2000 August 24 system had reached quiescence with R= 22.48 ± 0.07. The estimated distance source is ∼11 kpc. Photometry taken...

GRB 021004 is one of the best sampled gamma-ray bursts (GRB) to date, although nature its light curve still being debated. Here we present a large amount (107) new optical, near-infrared (NIR) and millimetre observations, ranging from 2 hours more than year after burst. Fitting multiband data model based on multiple energy injections suggests that at least 7 refreshed shocks took place during evolution afterglow, implying total release (collimated within an angle 1.8 deg) ~ 8x10^51 erg....

We imaged the position of naked-eye burst, GRB080319B, before, during, and after its gamma-ray activity with sub-second temporal resolution using TORTORA wide-field camera. The burst optical prompt emission, which reached 5.3 mag, has been detected, periodic variability discovered in form four equidistant flashes a duration several seconds. also detected strong correlation (r ≈ 0.82) between light curves 2 s delay emission respect to emission. revealed structure curve comparison can be...

The GRB010222 optical and near-infrared (NIR) afterglow was monitored at the TNG other Italian telescopes starting ∼1 day after high-energy prompt event. The BV R light curves, which are best sampled, continuously steepening can be described by two power laws, f (t) ∝ t -α , of indices α1 ∼ 0.7 α2 1.3 before a break occurring about 0.5 days GRB start time, respectively. This model accounts well also for flux in U I J bands, less monitored. The temporal appears to achromatic. The K-band points...

We report on ASCA and BeppoSAX X–ray broad band observations of the galactic low-luminosity source 4U 1700+24 performed 1995 1998, respectively, (quasi-)simultaneous ground its optical counterpart, V934 Her, from Loiano 1.5-meter telescope. In order to better understand nature we also analyze public archival ROSAT RXTE data as well ASM light curve 1700+24; re–analyze a 1985 EXOSAT pointing. The spectra are typical M2 III star; this allows us determine revised distance object ~400 pc. While...

Aims: With this paper we want to investigate the highly variable afterglow light curve and environment of gamma-ray burst (GRB) 060526 at $z=3.221$. Methods: We present one largest photometric datasets ever obtained for a GRB afterglow, consisting multi-color data from ultraviolet near infrared. The set contains 412 points in total which add additional literature. Furthermore, low-resolution high signal-to-noise spectra afterglow. is modeled with both an analytical model using broken power...

We report near-infrared and optical follow-up observations of the afterglow GRB 000418 starting 2.5 days after occurrence burst extending over nearly 7 weeks. represents second case for which was initially identified by in near-infrared. During first 10 its R-band well characterized a single power-law decay with slope 0.86. However, at later times temporal evolution flattens respect to simple decay. Attributing this an underlying host galaxy, we find magnitude be R = 23.9 intrinsic 1.22. The...
