Capillary vibrating sharp-edge spray ionization (cVSSI) has been used to control the droplet charging of nebulized microdroplets and monitor effects on protein ion conformation makeup as determined by mass spectrometry (MS). Here it is observed that application voltage results in noticeable differences charge state distributions (CSDs) ubiquitin ions. The data can be described most generally three distinct regions: Under low-voltage conditions (<+200 V, LV regime), low states (2+ 4+ ions)...
Optical rectification of near-infrared laser pulses generates broadband terahertz radiation in chalcopyrite crystals CdGeP2, ZnGeP2 and CdSiP2. The emission is characterized using linear-polarized excitation from 0.8 eV to 1.55 (1550 nm - 800 nm). All three are (110)-cut polished 0.5 mm, thinner than the coherence length across most photon energy range, such that they all produce a bandwidth ~2.5 THz when excited with ~100 fs pulses. It found CdGeP2 produced strongest at telecoms...
Capillary vibrating sharp-edge spray ionization (cVSSI) has been used to study the effects of applied voltage and mass spectrometer heated inlet transfer tube temperature on DNA triplex ion production for native spectrometry (MS) samples. Overall, medium (-900 -1000 V) results in better desired ions (Tri) (i.e., those without cation adducts such as NH4 +, Na+, K+); spectral peak intensities [Tri]8-, [Tri]9-, [Tri]10- increase by ∼70, ∼260, ∼125 fold, respectively, compared higher voltages...
Field-free capillary vibrating sharp-edge spray ionization (cVSSI) is evaluated for its ability to conduct native mass spectrometry (MS) experiments. The charge state distributions nine globular proteins are compared using field-free cVSSI, field-enabled and electrospray (ESI). In general, both positive negative ion mode, the average (
