Peripheral vascular disease is an atherosclerotic process. It has been suggested that angiotensin converting enzyme insertion/deletion polymorphism associated with atherosclerosis. The aim of this study was to investigate the role angiotensin-converting in Turkish patients peripheral Western part Turkey. We also investigated relationship between serum activity and distribution genotypes both control group. group consisted 78 disease. 73 healthy adults. Serum activities were higher than those...

In those cases where hypertriglyceridaemia was present before renal transplantation, it persisted after and hypercholesterolaemia also developed. We studied serum lipid, lipoprotein, apolipoprotein concentrations plasma fibronectin in 57 transplantation patients 29 healthy controls. We concluded that atherosclerosis might be related to alterations the constitutions of lipoproteins apolipoproteins, but synthesized by vascular endothelial cells seemed not associated with atherosclerotic process.

In this study, serum and ascites total protein, albumin, lactate dehydrogenase, alkaline phosphatase, gamma-glutamyl-transpeptidase enzyme activities, plasma fibronectin levels were determined in patients with cirrhosis (n=39) those different types of malignancies (n=23). malignant ascites, ascitic fluid protein increased 3.3 times when compared the cirrhotic ascites. The dehydrogenase found to be significantly (p<0.001). phosphatase values 21±16units/liter 75±71units/liter, respectively...

This study compares the diagnostic value of troponin T (TnT) and myoglobin with creatinine kinase (CK) for myocardial infarction (MI) in a tertiary care centre developing nation. The group comprised 33 acute patients 27 healthy controls. Receiver operating characteristic curves TnT, CK were drawn areas under curve calculated. At admission, levels had greater sensitivity than TnT or levels. After 2 h, equal specificity, whereas still lower TnT. 4 h there was no difference between tests. It...

Abstract Objectives Peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma (PPAR-γ) modifies many cellular processes that contribute to atherosclerosis. The increased concentrations of osteoprotegerin (OPG) are related with coronary artery disease, calcification in vascular tissue, advanced atherosclerosis, and diabetic complications has been informed. aim our study was define the relation among PPAR-γ Pro12Ala and, OPG Peripheral Vascular Disease (PVD) hypertension (HT). Also, it investigate...

New Zealand White rabbits were made hypercholesterolemic by feeding a high cholesterol diet (20 g/kg diet) for 3 months. Plasma concentrations monitored as function of time. At the end months, plasma lipid levels, whole blood, erythrocyte and haemoglobin-bound 2,3-DPG levels leucocyte counts increased, whereas counts, hematocrit haemoglobin decreased significantly in rabbits. experimental group divided into two groups. The first was fed standard 21 days. second received 0.5 mg/kg thymosin F5...

We investigated the relationship between plasma levels of fibronectin and other acute-phase reactant proteins such as C-reactive protein, alpha-1 antitrypsin, ceruloplasmin, transferrin in children with severe septicemia. The study included 33 Septicemic patients 10 normal children. Mean level was significantly lower on admission (204.7±57.3mg/dl), higher after recovery (349.3±89mg/dl), than (300.2±65mg/dl). No significant difference found mean without meningitis. After recovery, correlated...
