Fetal exposure to maternal glucocorticoids may determine fetal growth and the programing of later disorders. Previous epidemiological studies have shown a significant statistical correlation (P < 0.005 to P 0.0005) between goiter prevalence and rock types in the watersheds that supply 37 localities Western Colombia. Bacterial contamination has also been implicated as cause of endemic goiter. We, therefore, did bacteriological incorporate this variable into model 34 previously surveyed. We study the impact of deserting a pre-established path, determined by navigation software, on overall city traffic. To do so, we consider cellular automaton model for vehicular traffic, where cars travel between two randomly assigned points in following three different strategies based minimization individual paths or times. found, general, that, above critical car density, transport improves all if decrease time that vehicles persist trying to follow particular strategy when route is...

Abstract Malignant hyperthermia (MH) is a hereditary myopathy, triggered when susceptible patients are exposed to depolarizing muscle relaxant and/or potent volatile anesthetics. We have studied the effects of dantrolene on free [Ca 2+ ] i intercostal biopsies obtained from two MH‐susceptible before and after administration orally (2.5 mg/kg for 3 days) intravenously (1.0 2 hours biopsy). The was measured by Ca ‐selective microelectrodes. mean resting in treatment 0.42 ± 0.01 μ M (mean SEM,...

In humans, IGF-I and -II have an important role in pre- postnatal growth. Abstract Calcium uptake and (Ca 2+ + Mg )‐ATPase were measured in sarcoplasmic reticulum (SR) vesicles prepared from muscles of eight patients susceptible to malignant hyperthermia (MH) control subjects. Intracellular resting free calcium level some the studied subjects was also determined.
