In this study, we demonstrated a significant adsorption of Pseudomonas putida bacteria onto aggregates nanofibers (NFSiC) and nanorods (NRSiC) silicon carbide (SiC) in aqueous suspensions. Langmuir Freundlich isotherms were used to quantify affinities. It was found that the strongly depended on structure pH solution, which affected isoelectric point both bacterial cells. The strongest affinity noted case NRSiC aggregates. Affinity inversely proportional pH. Similarly, surface increased with...

We describe the synthesis of nanocomposites, based on nanofibers silicon carbide, silver nanoparticles, and cellulose. Silver nanoparticle was achieved with chemical reduction using hydrazine by adding two different surfactants to obtain a nanocomposite nanoparticles diameters. Determination antibacterial activity respiration tests. Enzymatic analysis indicates oxidative stress, viability testing conducted an epifluorescence microscope. Strong bactericidal nanocomposites found against...

Pseudomonas aeruginosa biofilm-associated infections are a serious medical problem, and new compounds therapies acting through novel mechanisms much needed. Herein, the authors report ruthenium(IV) complex that reduces P. PAO1 biofilm formation by 84%, alters morphology living-to-dead cell ratio at 1 mM concentration. Including compound in culture medium altered pigments secreted PAO1, fluorescence spectra revealed decrease pyoverdine. Scanning electron microscopy showed ruthenium did not...

This study was conducted to determine the prevalence of Campylobacter spp. isolated from dogs' faecal samples. From June 2012 2013, a total 210 samples pet dogs living in different kennels (n = 210) were collected by owners Greater Poland Voivodeship, Poznań District, Poland. The revealed that 105 out (50%) contained Campylobacter. highest occurred spring (81%), followed winter (64%). cadF gene found 100% isolates tested. occurrence other genes variable. young characterised higher virulence genes.

Abstract Investigations of bacterial communities and characterization mineralogy the environment in Złoty Stok As-Au deposit were carried out. PXRD analysis revealed presence picropharmacolite as most common secondary arsenic mineral mine. Total DNA was extracted from slime streams or biofilms samples to investigate communities. PCR amplification 16S rDNA performed followed by subcloning its products. Over 170 clones analyzed means RFLP method. Eight group representing different restriction...

Witnessed by the ongoing spread of antimicrobial resistant bacteria as well recent global pandemic SARS-CoV-2 virus, development new disinfection strategies is great importance, and novel substance classes effective antimicrobials virucides are urgently needed. Ionic liquids (ILs), low-melting salts, have been already recognized efficient agents with prospects for antiviral potential. In this study, we examined activity 12 morpholinium based herbicidal ionic a tripartite test system,...

Abstract Understanding the complexity and biodiversity of fungal communities associated with wheat endosphere can facilitate identification novel strains that might be beneficial to host plant. However, differentiation taxonomic classification endosphere-associated fungi respect various cultivars plant organs are challenging, time-consuming, expensive, even use molecular techniques. In present work, we describe a fast, simple, low-cost method based on high-resolution melting PCR (HRM-PCR)...

Microorganisms in the environment rarely live as single planktonic cells. Most often they form a static consortium of microorganisms floating mucus.Nowadays, those consortiums are described biofilm or biolayer [1-2].Biofilm is very complex and dynamic structure which microbial cell cooperates functions like multicellular organism.Biofilms can be formed by bacteria, fungi, algae, well protozoans. Those multi-culture 3-D structures built one many groups have an ability to attach biological...

Abstract The investigation was performed on 75 of Golden Retriever puppies. Faecal samples were collected the 42 day puppies life (control). Probiotic preparation administered 43 and 10 days after application probiotic, faecal again (on 53 life). All isolates Campylobacter coli isolated prior to administration probiotic found contain cad F gene responsible for adhesion, as well as, fla A influencing motility examined bacteria. Significant differences (P < 0.05) recorded only in case enrofloxacin.
