Introduction: In the recent years, prevalence of Chronic Renal failure has increased in community, resulting increasing number admission and decreased life expectancy. Failure affects almost all systems body results various abnormalities. Of causes, infection cardiovascular events contributes towards large proportion morbidity mortality. Left Ventricular Hypertrophy (LVH) is a major Echocardiographic nding (CRF) there scanty information on nature LVH patients with CRF.Aim present study to...
Obesity leads to an increased risk of cardiovascular disease morbidity and death, including heart failure. Bariatric surgery has been proven be the most effective long-term weight management treatment. This study investigated changes in cardiac structure function after bariatric surgery, left ventricular global longitudinal strain.
A 46-year-old woman underwent pericardiocentesis and pericardial window for recurrent effusion. She presented 17 months later with signs symptoms consistent constrictive pericarditis. Cardiac magnetic resonance imaging revealed an infiltrative mass surrounding the pericardium. transcutaneous core needle biopsy of pericardium confirmed diagnosis mesothelioma.
Clinical Presentation: A 52-year-old female with metastatic Stage IVB (T4N3M1c) lung adenocarcinoma presented worsening dyspnea. She had just completed her 3 rd round of carboplatin/pemetrexed/pembrolizumab/MK-5890 chemotherapy. Upon examination she was noted to be hypertensive and tachycardic an elevated high-sensitivity troponin T. ECG showed sinus tachycardia, left axis deviation, flattened T waves in lead V5 V6. In the ED, subsequently developed supraventricular tachycardia admitted ICU....
•Metastatic GCTs may initially present as right heart failure.•TTE and TEE can diagnose cardiac metastasis monitor function.•Multimodality imaging informs about tumor burden in metastatic tumors.
A 29-year-old woman with severe ulcerative colitis presented complicated recurrent pericarditis. Cardiac magnetic resonance imaging showed improvement in pericardial inflammation a prolonged course of anti-inflammatory therapy, but she developed several relapses on biologics. Rilonacept (newer interleukin-1 antagonist), disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs, and pericardiectomy may be considered such patients. (Level Difficulty: Intermediate.)
Introduction: A gastrointestinal stromal tumor (GIST) is a rare type of mesenchymal tumor. GISTs typically present with non-specific complaints, such as indigestion, weight loss, and dysphagia. Most are found on endoscopy or ultrasound. few GI bleeding, which can cause hemodynamic instability alleviated by endoscopic cauterization surgical resection. We report case GIST in the body stomach, presenting melena causing instability. Case Description/Methods: 57-year-old white male past medical...
A 16-year-old male with past medical history of congenital atrial septal defect surgical repair presented recurrent pericarditis secondary to post-cardiotomy injury syndrome (PCIS). After failing therapy, he ultimately underwent pericardiectomy for symptom resolution. PCIS is underdiagnosed in children and should be considered patients chest pain.
Case Presentation: A 69-year-old male with a history of chronic recurrent pericarditis presented 3-week episode chest pain. Despite treatment ibuprofen, colchicine, prednisone, and anakinra, he experienced multiple flares upon attempting to wean off anakinra. His current workup revealed an elevated C-reactive protein echocardiogram showing small pericardial effusion. Cardiac magnetic resonance imaging showed mild late gadolinium enhancement increased signal on T2 STIR imaging, confirming...
