Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) infection in humans is a major trigger of malignant and nonmalignant B cell proliferations. CD27 co-stimulatory molecule T cells, inherited deficiency characterized by high susceptibility to EBV infection, though the underlying pathological mechanisms have not yet been identified. In this study, we report patient suffering from recurrent EBV-induced proliferations including Hodgkin’s lymphoma because CD70, ligand CD27. We show that EBV-specific lymphocytes did expand...
Infection of T cells by Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) causes chronic active EBV infection (CAEBV) characterized cell lymphoproliferative disorders (T-LPD) unclear etiology. Here, we identified two homozygous biallelic loss-of-function mutations in PIK3CD and TNFRSF9 a patient who developed fatal CAEBV. The mutation gene coding CD137/4-1BB, costimulatory molecule expressed antigen-specific activated cells, resulted complete loss CD137 expression impaired expansion toward ligand–expressing cells....
Inborn errors of IFN-γ immunity can underlie tuberculosis (TB). We report three patients from two kindreds without EBV viremia or disease but with severe TB and inherited complete ITK deficiency, a condition associated that renders immunological studies challenging. They have CD4+ αβ T lymphocytopenia concomitant expansion CD4−CD8− double-negative (DN) Vδ2− γδ lymphocytes, both displaying unique CD38+CD45RA+T-bet+EOMES− phenotype. Itk-deficient mice recapitulated an the DN lymphocyte...
Foot and mouth disease virus has been multiplied in bovine tissue cultures. When embryonic heart lung cultures were inoculated with foot virus, it was possible to collect at 6 hour intervals until 66 hours without great decrease of activity.
