Misfit dislocations are often transported to the interface between crystals by glide. In materials with diamond or sphalerite structures, glide is inhibited Peierls stress. The aim of this paper present a theory for misfit accommodation which includes effect It used explain elastic strains in films germanium on gallium asrenide and reduction these high-temperature anneal. arsenide, temperature upon them, not explained earlier theories one crystal another.
Abstract The present paper investigates by experiment and theory the mechanisms governing work-hardening, work-softening slipband formation in face-centred cubic metals. rapid hardening stage (stage II) of stress-strain curve is investigated flow-stress measurements at different temperatures, combined tensile torsion experiments, observation length slip lines as a function prestrain. Stage III phenomena associated with it are electron microscope, showing that principal surface patterns (slip...
Host-microbe associations underlie many key processes of host development, immunity, and life history. Yet, none the current research on central model species Caenorhabditis elegans considers worm's natural microbiome. Instead, almost all laboratories exclusively use canonical strain N2 derived mutants, maintained through routine bleach sterilization in monoxenic cultures with an E. coli as food. Here, we characterize for first time native microbiome C. assess its influence nematode history...
Metastable alloy films of a number binary systems with limited terminaI solubilities were prepared by simultaneous vapor deposition the two components onto cold substrate. The resulting structures are either crystalline solid solutions (of concentrations higher than terminal solubility) or amorphous solutions. Several examples for both types described. conditions occurrence structure found to be difference atomic radii in excess 10% and sufficiently low substrate temperature. composition...
Abstract In the present paper we collect available evidence from work-hardening curves, slip-line observations, and ferromagnetic measurements on easy glide region of f.c.c. metals alloys low-temperature hexagonal metals. New experimental results are reported copper single crystals deformed at liquid oxygen temperature. A dislocation theory is given which accounts rather well for facts. The rate can be calculated data (distances between lengths slip-lines) found to agree with measurements. a...
Governments have introduced non-pharmaceutical interventions (NPIs) in response to the pandemic outbreak of Coronavirus disease (COVID-19). While NPIs aim at preventing fatalities related COVID-19, previous literature on their efficacy has focused infections and data first half 2020. Still, findings early NPI studies may be subject underreporting missing timeliness reporting cases. Moreover, low variation treatment timing during wave makes identification robust effects difficult. We enhance...

Abstract. The Tarim River basin, located in Xinjiang, NW China, is the largest endorheic river basin China and one of all Central Asia. Due to extremely arid climate, with an annual precipitation less than 100 mm, water supply along Aksu rivers solely depends on water. This linked anthropogenic activities (e.g., agriculture) natural semi-natural ecosystems as both compete for ongoing increase consumption by agriculture other human this region has been enhancing competition between needs...
The effects of both planar and axial channeling on the profile 5-keV boron ions implanted into (100) oriented silicon wafers are demonstrated. A tilt angle 12° from axis in a ‘‘random’’ crystallographic direction is required to minimize tail. It also shown that effect along 100 channels produces negligible addition tail, whereas (110) measurable contribution. Implantation through thin, 8-nm, thermally grown dioxide layer with ion beam aligned an comparable offset 9° random direction.
Damage distribution in [001] silicon crystals bombarded with a fluence of ${10}^{16}$/${\mathrm{cm}}^{2}$ to ${10}^{17}$${\mathrm{cm}}^{2}$ ${\mathrm{H}}^{+}$ ions at 50-250 keV and implantation temperatures from -170 600\ifmmode^\circ\else\textdegree\fi{}C was measured by use high-energy $^{4}\mathrm{He}^{+}$ channeling. The depth profiles were verified spreading-resistivity measurements, radiation-enhanced diffusion sectioning sample on which blisters had formed. hydrogen profile,...

A model is developed for the simulation of alloy thin films by forming a layer consisting spheres two different sizes mixed randomly in any desired proportion. Included possibility vibration to simulate low-temperature annealing, as well use “substrate” containing periodic grooves epitaxial growth. Optical (Fraunhofer) diffraction patterns are taken from photographs comparison with structural features observed directly. The serves show strikingly role size factor determining film structures....
The world's grasslands, both natural and managed, provide food many non-provisioning ecosystem services. Although most grasslands today are used for livestock grazing or fodder production, little is known about the spatial patterns of grassland management intensity, especially at broad geographic scales. Using European Union as a case study, we mapped mowing frequency key indicator intensity. We MODIS NDVI time series from 2000–2012 to map using spline-fitting algorithm that detects up five...
Many of the processes used in fabrication silicon integrated circuits lead to development stress substrate. Given enough stress, substrate will yield by generating dislocations. We examine formation stress-induced dislocations circuit structures. Examples are presented from bipolar and MOS-based structures that were created during developmental studies. The underlying causes oxidation-induced effect on such varying oxidation conditions discussed. knowledge thus gained is explain dislocation...
An anomalous enhanced diffusion is observed when As-implanted Si samples are exposed to rapid heating (∼ seconds) from room temperature temperatures exceeding 1000 °C. This can be characterized by a low activation energy of ∼1.8 eV and active during very short time (≲ 1 s) probably the up sample.
This study shows that the damage observed in silicon slices after exposure to reactive ion etching a hydrogen containing plasma is caused by physical bombardment of surface ions. conclusion based primarily on extensive measurements retention time, Rutherford backscattering, and Auger analysis data. When etch gas mixture , ions are implanted into an approximate depth 200Å. Because rate slow, any resulting due this increases faster than can be removed fast etch, like alone. However, damaged...
Satellite-derived land surface phenology (LSP) serves as a valuable input source for many environmental applications such cover classifications and global change studies. Commonly, LSP is derived from coarse-resolution (CR) sensors due to their well-suited temporal resolution. However, increasingly demanded at medium resolution (MR), but inferring directly MR imagery remains challenging task (e.g., acquisition frequency). As such, we present methodology that predicts on the basis of...
A key factor for operational forest management and monitoring is the availability of up-to-date spatial information on state resources. Earth observation can provide valuable contributions to these needs. The German federal Rhineland-Palatinate transferred its inherited system a new architecture that better able serve needs centralized inventory planning services, down level districts. During this process, spatially adaptive classification approach was developed derive high-resolution layers...
