Abstract Analyses of the leaf oils from three colletions Lippia origanoides H.B.K. by GC/MS and 1H- 13C-NMR showed a similar chemical composition. Carvacrol (33.5–42.9%) was identified as major component together with γ-terpinene (8.0–10.5%), thymol (5.1–8.4%), methyl (6.1–8.7%) p-cymene (11.9–15.8%). In vitro evaluation significant antimicrobial activity against Escherichia coli, Staphylococus aureus, aureus MRSA, Candida albicans tropicalis.

Depth profiles of double-layer biological samples obtained by photoacoustic spectroscopy were studied using the two-signal phase-resolved method. The application method was demonstrated singling out spectra cuticle and pigment layers a leaf, pericarps endosperm corn kernel. use for monitoring temporal changes occurring in leaf under action herbicide also investigated.

A gram-positive bacterium, denominated CFA-06, was isolated from Brazilian petroleum in the Campos Basin and is responsible for degradation of aromatic compounds fractions. The CFA-06 strain identified as Bacillus safensis using 16S rRNA gyrase B sequence. Enzymatic assays revealed presence two oxidoreductases: a catalase new oxidoreductase. oxidoreductases were enzymatically digested analyzed via ESI-LTQ-Orbitrap mass spectrometry. data novel oxidoreductase (named BsPMO) containing 224...

Propolis is a sticky, gummy, resinous substance collected by honeybees (Apis mellifera L.) from various plant sources, which has excellent medicinal properties. This paper describes the isolation and identification of triterpenoids anacardic acid derivatives Brazilian propolis their antibacterial activity. Their structures were elucidated ¹H 13C NMR, including uni- bidimensional techniques; in addition, comparisons made with data academic literature. These compounds identified as: cardanols...
