Background
The hypofunction of theN-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA) subtype glutamate receptors has been implicated in the pathophysiology schizophrenia. Several lines evidence suggest thatD-serine may function as an endogenous agonist glycine site NMDA receptor. aim this study was to examine whether serum levels ofD-andL-serine patients with schizophrenia are different from those healthy controls.
Methods
Forty-two and 42 age- sex-matched controls were enrolled study....

d ‐Aspartate increases human chorionic gonadotropin‐induced testosterone production in purified rat Leydig cells. l ‐Aspartate, ‐, ‐glutamate or ‐asparagine could not substitute for ‐aspartate and this effect was independent of glutamate receptor activation. Testosterone enhanced only cells cultured with more than 3 h. The increased well correlated the amounts incorporated into cells, ‐cysteine sulfinic acid, an inhibitor uptake, suppressed both intracellular levels. therefore is presumably...
Asymmetric NG,NG-dimethylarginine (ADMA) is an endogenous inhibitor of endothelial nitric oxide (NO) synthase and its plasma concentration elevated in patients with cardiovascular risk factors, including hyperlipidemia, hypertension, diabetes, hyperhomocysteinemia. Obstructive sleep apnea syndrome (OSAS) has been attracting attention as a factor for disorders because it often accompanies obesity, glucose impairment, dyslipidemia, all which are factors metabolic disease. In the present study,...
Abstract An HPLC assay for hydroxyl radicals is described. The radical was trapped by terephthalic acid (non‐fluorescent), and 2‐hydroxyl (fluorescent) quantitated HPLC‐fluorescence detection. At a concentration of 4.25 mmol/L, the formed in Fenton reaction successfully assayed range hydrogen peroxide 2.5–50 µmol/L, where Fe(II) 50 µmol/L. fluorescence 2‐hydroxy terephthalate stable at 24 h, its detection limit this method 5 nmol/L (100 fmol). Oligo-and poly-saccharides which are utilizcd only by B. infantis and breve not other intestinal bacteria such as E. coli, L. acidophilus, S. faecalis were investigated in vitro for the purpose of producing bifidus-flora human intestines. Raffinose, stachyose, inulin found to be specifically utilized doubling time cells with them energy source was short glucose lactose. Inulin molecular weight higher than ca. 4500 infantis. Oligosaccharides more trisaccharide from tri-to penta-saccharides...
This study presents a fully automated Cartesian-grid-based compressible flow solver, named FrontFlow/Violet Hierarchical Cartesian for Aeronautics based on Compressible-flow Equations (FFVHC-ACE), large-eddy simulation (LES) and its aeronautical applications. FFVHC-ACE enables high-fidelity LES of high-Reynolds-number flows around complex geometries by adopting three key numerical methods: hierarchical grids, wall modeling in LES, the kinetic-energy entropy preserving (KEEP) scheme. The...
