Background & AimsNext-generation sequencing (NGS) of pancreatic cyst fluid is a useful adjunct in the assessment patients with cyst. However, previous studies have been retrospective or single institutional experiences. The aim this study was to prospectively evaluate NGS on multi-institutional cohort real time.MethodsThe performance 22-gene panel (PancreaSeq) first retrospectively confirmed and then within 2-year timeframe, PancreaSeq testing used endoscopic ultrasound–guided fine-needle...
We report the development and validation of a combined DNA/RNA next-generation sequencing (NGS) platform to improve evaluation pancreatic cysts.
INTRODUCTION: While ubiquity of glucagon-like peptide receptor agonists (GLP1-RAs) is rising, guidance from the gastroenterology societies and American Society Anesthesiologist (ASA) remains in conflict on recommendations regarding preoperative holding before endoscopy. The aim this study was to address by evaluating effect GLP1-RAs gastric retention during upper METHODS: This multicenter cross-sectional included patients confirmed receiving an endoscopy 2021 2023. Demographics, prescribing...
Objectives: Cirrhosis is frequently complicated by electrolyte disturbances, with prior studies primarily focused on the importance of hyponatremia. Emerging evidence patients chronic heart failure and kidney disease has identified hypochloremia as an independent predictor for mortality. This study aimed to investigate prognostic value serum chloride its association mortality in cirrhotic patients. Design: Retrospective cohort study. Setting: The medical ICU at Parkland Memorial Hospital, a...
We describe our current approach for flexible endoscopic management of Zenker's diverticulum. This utilizes the latest techniques in surgery including submucosal division muscular common wall, partial mucosal wall division, and watertight closure. Laryngoscope, 2024 In recent years, treatment Zenker diverticulum (ZD) other hypopharyngeal diverticula has underwent substantial transformation. Refinement instrumentation surgical technique have led to improvements outcomes treatment-associated...
Acute cholangitis occurs from biliary obstruction. Gallstones, strictures and neoplasia account for most cases [1]. Sutures prior surgical interventions have previously been described as leading to obstruction [2]. We present a case of patient who had undergone orthotopic liver transplantation with duct-to-duct anastomosis 4 years developed acute ultimately due retained suture at the site ([Video 1]). This was successfully removed endoscopically prevent future recurrences.
Abstract Pancreatic duct stenting involves the placement of a stent into pancreatic to restore drainage and flow secretions. It relieves upstream dilation, facilitates secretions, alleviates associated symptoms like pain, nausea, malnutrition, recurrent pancreatitis. Additionally, it is utilized treat variety pathologies, including obstructions from conditions chronic pancreatitis, malignancy, leaks. Depending on clinical scenario, different types stents can be placed using endoscopic,...
