The co-doping of Ca and Mn in respective Bi Fe-sites BiFeO3 lattice leads to structural transition from rhombohedral (R3c space group) orthorhombic (Pbnm crystal symmetry. tilt angle for anti-phase rotation the oxygen octahedra at room temperature is observed be ∼13.8°. It decreases with increase percentage which suggests composition-driven phase transition. remnant magnetization sample 15% becomes about 16 times that BiFeO3. may attributed suppression cycloid spin structure uncompensated...

Using a newly developed highly spin-polarized Heusler alloy, Co2Fe(Ga0.5Ge0.5) (CFGG), as ferromagnetic layers, we have fabricated current-perpendicular-to-plane pseudospin valve with large resistance change-area product (ΔRA) of 9.5 mΩ μm2 and magnetoresistance (MR) ratio (100×ΔR/R) 41.7% at 300 K. These values were further enhanced to ΔRA=26.4 MR=129.1% 10 The MR are attributed the high spin polarization CFGG alloy confirmed by point contact Andreev reflection measurements.

The existence of an orientationally disordered cubic phase solid ethanol is revealed by x-ray diffraction and Raman spectroscopic measurements. Such a phase, whose was postulated some time ago on the basis specific-heat measurements, produced quenching below 95 K plastic crystal formed upon melting subsequent annealing topologically (glassy) solid. relevance present findings for current discussions glassy dynamics analyzed in detail. \textcopyright{} 1996 American Physical Society.

Cross-linked polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) and pyrrolidone (PVP) composite nanofibrous membranes have been prepared by electrospinning. Mechanical properties of the improved significantly with PVP addition. hydrophilicity sustainable degradation membranes. Biocompatibility was assessed in vitro culture native skin cells (L929 fibroblast HaCaT keratinocytes). Tests showed sustained release antibiotic ciprofloxacin hydrochloride monohydrate Further, zone inhibition study against Staphylococcus...

We report the observation of magnetic entropy change due to martensitic phase transformations bulk off-stoichiometric Heusler alloys with compositions Ni46Mn43Sn11, Ni44Mn43Co2Sn11, and Ni44Mn43Cu2Sn11, prepared by arc melting method. The transition parent ternary alloy (Ni46Mn43Sn11) shifts lower temperatures upon Co Cu substitution. Inverse magnetocaloric effect was observed in these near transformation temperature when subjected an applied field. Ni44Mn43Cu2Sn11 exhibited maximum positive...

In the present work, we introduce a new approach for synthesis of asymmetric particles made from electrically conducting polyaniline-alginate hydrogels by using bipolar electrochemistry. Such an intrinsic break symmetry allows soft beads to exhibit tunable motion at air/water interface when loaded with ethanol due controllable directed release solvent.

Magnetite (Fe3O4) nanoparticle (MNP)-substituted glass-ceramic (MSGC) powders with compositions of (45 - x)SiO2-24.5CaO-24.5Na2O-6P2O5-xFe3O4 (x = 5, 8, and 10 wt%) have been prepared by a sol-gel route introducing Fe3O4 nanoparticles during the synthesis. The X-ray diffraction patterns as-prepared MSGC nanopowders revealed presence combeite (Na2Ca2Si3O9), magnetite, sodium nitrate (NaNO3) crystalline phases. Heat-treatment up to 700 °C for 1 h resulted in complete dissolution NaNO3 along...
