Superplasticity in a recrystallized Ni3Al polycrystal doped with boron was investigated. Superplastic flow maximum elongation of 160% observed under the condition an ultra fine grain size (1.6 μm) at low initial strain rate (≤1.04×10−4s−1) and 973 K. A stress high strain-rate sensitivity index were attained these conditions. The occurrence dynamic recrystallization (DR) verified by transmission electron microscope (TEM), DR believed to be important mechanism superplastic deformation as...

The crystallography of B2→7R stress-induced martensitic transformation in a Ni-37.0 at%Al alloy was studied using single crystals. experimental results were compared with predictions the phenomenological crystallographic theory. simultaneously measured habit planes and orientation relationship between parent martensite showed excellent agreement theory, for lattice invariant shear faulting on basal plane. Thus, theory confirmed to apply well present Ni–Al as well. two transformations B2→3R...

Superelasticity of β Ti-16 at%Nb-4.8 at%Sn alloy consisting non- (or minimal-) cytotoxic elements was investigated for biomedical applications as functions deformation temperature and aging heat treatment after quenching. As-quenched Ti-16Nb-4.8Sn having Af (the reverse martensitic transformation finish temperature) 266 K exhibits superelasticity at human body (310 K) with an elastic recovery strain 3.2%. decreases increasing in the range 353 to 423 or time K. It is confirmed from TEM...

Estrogenic and cardiotonic steroidal skeletons were concisely constructed via Mizoroki–Heck intramolecular Diels–Alder (IMDA) reactions. Simple modification of the dienophile unsaturation IMDA precursor enabled representative AB-ring systems both steroid classes to be accessed from same intermediate. The diastereoselectivity reaction used access skeleton was found significantly enhanced by performing in water.

The total synthesis of (+)-cannogenol, an aglycon common to various biologically important cardiotonic glycosides, has been achieved. Synthesis the versatile intermediate involves Mizoroki–Heck and intramolecular Diels–Alder reactions from enantiomerically pure CD-ring segment, newly prepared in a multidecagram scale this time. Total by site-selective transformations demonstrated applicability our synthetic approach.

The yield stress and slip plane in Fe3Al0.8Si0.2 having the critical ordering temperature of B2-DO3 transformation Tc=1028 K were investigated at temperatures between 77 1100 with respect to their dependence on orientation. A peak takes place 880 except crystal whose maximum resolved shear coincides twinning {112} plane. In crystals which exhibit strength, operative changes from {110} antiphase boundary energy is lowest (below temperature) (above peak). strength attributed Stoloff Davies’...

The nondestructive mixing properties of optical resonance modes were investigated using a structure with dielectric sandwiched between metallic sub-wavelength cut-through slit-array slabs. For the un-shifted configuration, mode repulsion around intersection was more enhanced for an intermediate greater refractive index, though no anticrossing characteristic seen air-gap structure. On other hand, lateral shift slit arrays effects even geometrically dependent characteristics are interpreted in...
