Abdominal perineal excision (APE) was originally described with levator ani removal for rectal cancer. An even wider, more aggressive extralevator resection APE has been proposed. Although some surgeons are performing a very wide 'extralevator (ELAPE)', there few data to recommend it routinely. This multicentre study aimed compare outcomes of and ELAPE.A propensity case-matched analysis comparing two surgical approaches (APE ELAPE) performed. All patients who underwent abdominoperineal...
Urine alkalinization can be used for the treatment of some urological diseases. A series cases showing beneficial effects urine with potassium magnesium citrate, theobromine, zinc and vitamin dissolution uric acid stones other pathological conditions is presented. Alkalinization was effective in renal various clinical conditions. Two bilateral stone, four staghorn seven patients unilateral five ureteral stone were described. In this group age ranged from 46 to 91 years, M/F ratio 7/11,...
A 77‐year‐old man presented a recurrent subungual malignant melanoma with desmoplastic features in which heterotopic bone had developed. Histological, histochemical and immunohistochemical findings confirmed the diagnosis of melanoma. Electron microscopic suggest that desmoplasia is result fibroblastic differentiation spindle cells.
Since circulating tumor cells (CTCs) have metastatic potential, their genetic and phenotypic characteristics could provide crucial information to establish the most effective therapy. We assessed clinical utility of a methodology that allows simultaneous analysis CTC phenotype genotype in colon cancer patients and, addition, whether this complementary obtained by primary biopsy. Thirty-three non-metastatic (stages 0-III) 9 healthy donor samples were evaluated. All peripheral blood (10 ml)...
Abstract PPFIA1 (liprin α1) is a member of the liprin (LAR protein-tyrosine phosphatase-interacting protein) family and located at 11q13 amplification region, which one most common amplicons in multiple epithelial cancers. In squamous cell carcinoma head neck (HNSCC), this occurs 30-50% cases. cancers, size structure amplicon complex consists cores that differ between different tumor types. HNSCC, core contains 10 genes are amplified cases with amplification. This region well-established...
