The evaluation of treatment response remains a challenge in glioma cases because the neuro oncological therapy can lead to development treatment-related changes (TRC) that mimic true progression (TP). Positron emission tomography (PET) using O-(2-[18F] fluoroethyl-)-L-tyrosine (18F-FET) has been shown be useful tool for detecting TRC and TP. We assessed diagnostic performance different 18F-FET PET segmentation approaches imaging biomarkers differentiation between late TP patients. Isocitrate...
Among attempts to delay development of resistance tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs) in patients with advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) activating mutations epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR), intercalated therapy has not been properly evaluated. In a phase II trial, 38 EGFR mutated NSCLC stage were treated 4 6 3-weekly cycles schedule gemcitabine (1250 mg/m2, days 1 and 4), cisplatin (75 day 2) erlotinib (150 mg, 5 – 15), followed by continuous as maintenance. addition...
Detection of bone marrow involvement (BMI) in diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) typically relies on invasive biopsy (BMB) that faces procedure limitations, while
Abstract Hairy cell leukemia is a rare hematologic malignancy characterized by splenomegaly, pancytopenia, and susceptibility to infections. We report case of 66-year-old man, diagnosed with hairy leukemia, without severe cytopenias but an extensive pathological retroperitoneal mass infiltration the spleen skeletal involvement. All findings were highly avid on pretreatment 18 F-FDG PET/CT scan. Treatment response evaluation scan showed normalization FDG uptake all previously sites.
To evaluate the effectiveness of intraarterial infusion chemotherapy (IAC) with mitoxantrone hydrochloride in patients previously treated, locally recurrent breast cancer.Thirty-nine women (aged 31-82 years) cancer underwent superselective IAC (25 mg/m2 every 24 hours) through subclavian artery branches after heparin administration. The extent tumor perfusion was monitored computed tomography during administration contrast medium. repeated one to nine times. Patients had undergone radiation...
This study assessed the prognostic value of tumor burden in bone marrow (BM) and total disease (TD), as depicted on 18F-FDG PET/CT 140 DLBCL patients, for complete remission after first-line systemic treatment (iCR) 3- 5-year overall survival (OS3 OS5).
Lymphoplasmacytic lymphoma (LPL)/Waldenström macroglobulinemia (WM) is an uncommon mature B cell usually involving the bone marrow and, less commonly, spleen and/or lymph nodes. This case presents a pathology-confirmed isolated extramedullary relapse of LPL, located in subcutaneous adipose tissue, 5 years after successful treatment WM.
