The incidence rate of cervical cancer in Korea is still higher than other developed countries, notwithstanding the national mass-screening program. Furthermore, a new method has been introduced screening. Therefore, committee for screening updated recommendation statement established 2002. version guideline was by using evidence-based methods. reviewed evidence benefits and harms Papanicolaou test, liquid-based cytology, human papillomavirus (HPV) testing, reached conclusions after...
Melanoma is among the most aggressive and treatment-resistant human cancers. Aberrant histone H3 methylation at Lys 9 (H3K9) correlates with carcinogenic gene silencing, but significance of suppressor variegation 3–9 homolog 1 (SUV39H1), an H3K9-specific methyltransferase, in melanoma initiation progression remains unclear. Here, we show that SUV39H1-mediated H3K9 trimethylation facilitates retinoblastoma (RB)1 promoter CpG island by interacting DNA methyltransferase 3A decreasing RB mRNA...
To evaluate the healing effect of a mixture chitosan and particulate dentin, 8-mm-diameter critical size defect was created in calvarium 75 rats. The rats were divided into four experimental groups control group (no treatment). defects grafted either with pig dentin (group 1), plaster Paris 2), 3), or only 4). Rats each sacrificed 2, 4, 8 weeks after implantation. All showed more new bone formation when compared to group. Additionally, all exhibited growth at than 4 It concluded from this...
Despite conflicting results, there is evidence to suggest an inverse link between total body cholesterol levels and the risk of certain malignancies. Based on previous reports, this phenomenon appears vary with cancer site, and, in particular, more consistent data relations was reported gastric cancer. In current study, effect cell viability examined using vitro culture system. Addition medium resulted reduced clonogenicity SNU601, SNU638 SNU216 cells by induction both autophagic apoptotic...
Severe alveolar bony resorption in the edentulous posterior maxilla and pneumatization of maxillary sinus wall make traditional implant placement impossible maxilla. To reconstruct severely resorbed for dental placement, 1 successful technique is to elevate floor using demineralized bone matrix (DBM) grafts. The purpose this study was evaluate a histologic histomorphometric evaluation DBM grafts human maxilla.Nine months after grafting, at time implantation, biopsy samples were taken from...
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect tooth ash and platelet-rich plasma (PRP), fibrin (PRF) grafts into bone defects around implants on formation. Six adult dogs were used as experimental subjects. Graft materials create a particulate material. Forty-eight tapered-type implants, 3.7 mm in diameter, 10 length, with surface treated hydroxyapatite (HA) coating, implant fixtures. Using trephine bur, four formed placed femurs dogs. Bone not performed control group. Tooth grafted...
Abstract We describe a 51‐year‐old man with 3‐year history of multiple system atrophy, who developed reversible posterior leukoencephalopathy syndrome (RPLS) after receiving prescription midodrine for therapeutic treatment orthostatic hypotension. Typical magnetic resonance imaging findings, following midodrine, suggested possible relationship between treatment, supine hypertension, and RPLS, although cause‐and‐effect cannot be confirmed. © 2007 Movement Disorder Society
Securing sufficient alveolar bone is important for a successful implant. Alveolar should be augmented to adequate height and width an implant satisfy the functional, biological, aesthetic properties. The subjects of this study were 3 patients with severe defects caused by either periodontal disease or failure implants on mandibular posterior tooth, anterior maxillary tooth. shape commercial block allograft (Puros J-Block, Zimmer Dental Inc., Carlsbad, CA) was modified match defect,...
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the ability new bone formation deproteinized bovine (Bio-Oss) and mineralized allogenic (Tutoplast).Sixty rats were divided into control experimental groups (groups 1 2): group, unfilled control; group 1, Bio-Oss; 2, Tutoplast, respectively. animals killed after 6 12 weeks, newly formed analyzed histomorphometrically. In some in rim defect area. In thinner than adjacent normal bone, Bio-Oss particles observed. showed a pattern gradual fusion with as...
Purpose: This study evaluated the effect of drilling speed on early bone healing in mandible dogs. Material and Methods: Six dogs were selected, mandibular premolars molars extracted. After 2 months, 3 hydroxyapatite-surfaced fixtures implanted with speeds 50, 800, 1200 rpm right side first then left after weeks. Implant stability quotient (ISQ) was measured insertion, 4 Results: Based ISQ measurement, 1200-rpm group showed a higher value than 50-rpm at weeks (P < 0.05). New formation around...
