A dual ion beam system has been used to produce hard nanocomposite TiN/Si3N4 coatings on silicon substrate. Mechanical properties have determined by nanoindentation and tribological measured nanoscratch testing. Nanoindentation showed that harder nanocomposites exhibited higher ratios of hardness modulus (H/E). The dependence the resistance plastic deformation (H3/E2) was approximately linear. H/E value influenced behaviour. Coatings with critical loads for elastic–plastic transition also...
This report describes the conceptual design of a proposed free electron laser test facility called CLARA that will be major upgrade to existing VELA accelerator at Daresbury Laboratory in UK. able number new schemes have been but require proof principle experiment confirm they perform as predicted. The primary focus on ultra short photon pulse generation which take lasers into whole regime, enabling area science emerge.
Abstract NEG-coated chambers have been adopted as the beam ducts for large particle accelerators and synchrotron light sources sake of lower yields photon stimulated desorption (PSD) photoelectrons (PE) from NEG films in addition to their pumping performance. Measurement photoelectron yield (PEY) was performed at BL19B beamline 1.5 GeV Taiwan Light Source (TLS) which simultaneously measures PSD-yield. An aluminium cathode inserted tubes a positive bias voltage extraction applied. The PEY...
The current need to develop sustainable power sources has led the development of ocean-based conversion systems. Wells turbine is a widely used converter in such systems which suffers from lack operational range and production capacity under conditions. profile named IFS concave post-mid-chord region, can produce significantly larger lift forces show better separation behavior than NACA profiles. In present study, we tested this for first time turbine. performance six different blade designs...
