We investigate synchronization between the low-frequency oscillations of heart rate and blood pressure having in humans a basic frequency close to 0.1 Hz. A method is proposed for quantitative estimation these oscillating processes based on calculation relative time phase oscillations. It shown that healthy subjects exhibit average substantially longer epochs internal than patients after acute myocardial infarction.
For the cases of spontaneous respiration and paced with a fixed frequency linearly increasing frequency, we investigate synchronization between three main rhythmic processes governing cardiovascular dynamics in humans, namely, heart rhythm, respiration, process whose fundamental is close to 0.1 Hz. The analysis experimental records reveals synchronous regimes different orders $n:m$ all rhythms. influence regime breathing magnitude rate variability on degree considered.
We further develop the method proposed by Bezruchko et al. [Phys. Rev. E $64,$ 056216 (2001)] for estimation of parameters time-delay systems from time series. Using this we demonstrate a possibility message extraction communication system with nonlinear mixing information signal and chaotic system. The procedure is illustrated using both numerical experimental data different kinds signals.
This paper describes in detail a new method proposed by authors for quantitative estimation of the strength synchronization between low-frequency oscillations (with main frequency about 0.1 Hz) heart rate variability (HRV) and photoplethysmogram (PPG). Calculation index value is followed statistical significance control. The applied analysis 1056 pairs HRV PPG signals obtained from patients having different clinical status. Methodological recommendations are developed application studies.
We propose a method that allows one to estimate the parameters of model scalar time-delay differential equations from time series. The is based on statistical analysis intervals between extrema in verify our by using it for reconstruction their chaotic solutions and modeling experimental systems with delay-induced dynamics
A method is proposed for detecting from univariate data the presence of synchronization a self-sustained oscillator by external driving with varying frequency. The based on analysis difference between instantaneous phases calculated using continuous wavelet transform at time moments shifted certain constant value relative to each other. We apply our driven asymmetric van der Pol oscillator, experimental electronic delayed feedback and human heartbeat series. In latest case, heart rate...
Cardiorespiratory interactions are important, both for understanding the fundamental processes of functioning human body and development methods diagnostics various pathologies. The properties cardiorespiratory interaction determined by autonomic control blood circulation, which modulated higher nervous activity. We study directional couplings between respiration process parasympathetic heart rate in awake state different stages sleep 96 healthy subjects from age groups. detection is carried...
We propose a method for detecting the presence of synchronization self-sustained oscillator by external driving with linearly varying frequency. The is based on continuous wavelet transform signals and force allows one to distinguish case true from spurious caused linear mixing signals. apply driven van der Pol experimental data human heart rate variability respiration.
Synchronization between 0.1-Hz rhythms in cardiovascular system is deteriorated at acute myocardial infarction (AMI) leading to a disruption of natural functional couplings within the autonomic regulation. This study evaluates prognostic value regulation indices for 5-year risk fatal and nonfatal events patients after AMI.We studied 125 (53 [42%] female) AMI aged 30 83 years. The period observation was 5 years with checkpoints first week each year AMI. We compared established clinical...
We compare the spectral indices of photoplethysmogram variability (PPGV) estimated using photoplethysmograms recorded from earlobe and middle fingers right left hand analyze their correlation with similar heart rate (HRV) in 30 healthy subjects (26 men) aged 27 (25, 29) years (median inter-quartile ranges) at rest under head-up tilt test. The following PPGV HRV were compared: mean (HR), total power (TP), high-frequency (HF) low-frequency (LF) ranges TP percents (HF% LF%), LF/HF ratio,...
We study the synchronization of infra-slow oscillations in human scalp electroencephalogram signal with respiratory signal. For cases paced respiration a fixed frequency and linearly increasing frequency, we reveal phase locking brain potentials by respiration. It is shown that for different areas, can exhibit synchronous regimes orders.
We propose a method for the recovery of coupling architecture and parameters elements in networks consisting coupled oscillators described by delay-differential equations. For each oscillator network, we introduce an objective function characterizing distance between points reconstructed nonlinear function. The proposed is based on minimization this separation recovered coefficients into significant insignificant coefficients. efficiency shown chaotic time series generated model equations...
The origin of complex irregular dynamics in a cardiovascular system is still being actively debated. Some hypotheses suggest the crucial role stochastic modulation parameters, while others argue for importance cardiac pacemakers' chaotic deterministic dynamics. In present study, we estimate largest Lyapunov exponent and correlation dimension 4-h experimental interbeat intervals signals generated by mathematical model system. We study complexity such cases as autonomic blockade, exclusion all...
Abstract A mathematical model is proposed for the autonomic control of cardiovascular system, which takes into account two separated self-exciting sympathetic loops heart rate and peripheral vascular tone. The are represented by time-delay systems their tone depends on activity aortic, carotid, lower-body baroreceptors. used to study dynamics adaptive processes that manifest in a healthy system during passive head-up tilt test. Computer simulation provides continuous observation indexes...
