Abstract Background We performed a retrospective comparative study to clarify the optimal gallbladder drainage method prior elective cholecystectomy. Methods collected data from Diagnosis Procedure Combination database about cholecystitis patients who underwent cholecystectomy in subsequent hospitalization between April 2014 and March 2020. divided population into two groups: an endoscopic stenting (EGBS) group percutaneous transhepatic (PTGBD) group. propensity score matching compared...

Abstract Nitric oxide (NO) signaling controls various metabolic pathways in bacteria and higher eukaryotes. Cellular enzymes synthesize detoxify NO; however, a mechanism that its cellular homeostasis has not been identified. Here, we found nitrogen cycle involving nitrate reductase (Nar) the NO dioxygenase flavohemoglobin (Fhb), facilitate inter-conversion of nitrate, nitrite actinobacterium Streptomyces coelicolor . This regulates levels, bacterial antibiotic production morphological...

For long-term treatment of hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection, switching from tenofovir-disoproxil-fumarate (TDF) to tenofovir-alafenamide (TAF) may prevent renal dysfunction and bone loss. However, the precise effects this switch on blood lipid profile remain be clarified. This is an important issue as TDF known have both low- high-density lipids. Therefore, our retrospective multi-center study aimed evaluate TAF patients with HBV infection. Samples were obtained prior at 6–12 months after...

Abstract Background High subcutaneous adipose tissue radiodensity (SATr), an indirect surrogate marker of quality, was associated with poor prognosis in various cancers. The present study aimed to assess the association SATr survival outcomes patients advanced biliary tract cancer (BTC). Methods This retrospective, single‐center included unresectable or recurrent BTC who underwent chemotherapy/chemoradiotherapy. Overall (OS) and progression‐free (PFS) were assessed using log‐rank test Cox...

A 73-year-old female with type 1 autoimmune pancreatitis (AIP) presented painful erythema on her lower extremities and elevated serum pancreatic enzyme levels. Her CT images revealed focal enlargement of the tail an increased density surrounding fatty tissue. Based findings, she was diagnosed as having acute deterioration AIP. Skin biopsy fat necrosis ghost cells, calcification, inflammatory infiltration, consistent panniculitis. Increasing prednisolone dose to 25 mg/day promptly ameliorated...

OBJECTIVES: Biliary tract cancer (BTC) is an aggressive malignant tumor, and biomarker-based clinical trials for this are currently ongoing. Endoscopic ultrasound–guided fine needle aspiration (EUS-FNA) a safe procedure enables pathological diagnoses; however, it uncertain whether tiny tumor sample of BTC obtained through EUS-FNA can be analyzed diverse genetic alterations in the development tolerance BTC. Thus, we aimed to verify feasibility analyses with samples METHODS: Targeted amplicon...

Recently, EUS-guided fine-needle biopsy (EUS-FNB) using a Franseen needle was developed for histological tissue acquisition. However, the yield of 25G when acquiring core has been unclear. We performed prospective, multicenter, and observational cohort study that included 100 solid lesions scheduled EUS-FNB at eight centers in Hokkaido, Japan. Only specimens acquired first pass were evaluated without rapid on-site evaluation. The acquisition rate, rate an adequate specimen assessment, quality...

The poor prognosis of malignant biliary diseases is partially caused by their difficult early diagnosis. Therefore, many patients are only diagnosed at advanced stages. This study aimed to improve diagnosis clarifying the differences in duodenal juice metabolomes benign and diseases. The objective of this study is to develop the system that can generate a map regarding field information such as crop status and land topographical feature obtained by an imaging sensor laser range finder mounted on unmanned helicopter. To precise map, accurate measurement helicopter's position posture are essential, because geometric distortions occur in image taken from helicopter due variations sensing posture. In research, RTK-GPS was adopted positioning INS. Furthermore, encoders...
