Eugenol has diverse biological properties including antimycobacterial activity, and the triazole ring is an important heterocycle in compounds. Therefore, this research aimed to synthesize novel eugenol-derived 1,2,3-triazole as agents with interesting cytotoxic profile pharmacological assets.Sixteen compounds were obtained characterized by nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), infrared (IR), high-resolution mass spectrometry (HRMS).Among them, best growth inhibition from a microdilution assay...

Background: Escherichia coli has an adaptive metabolism and many strains are resistant to classical antibacterial agents, due this resistance, it can cause severe clinical infections. In addition, few novel agents have been developed in recent years, which corroborate with antimicrobial resistance. For reason, innovative antimicrobials targets modes of action needed. Keywords: Antibacterial properties, biofilm formation, metal-coordinated SMZ, respiratory activity, sulfamethoxazole.

The present study aimed to genotypically and phenotypically characterize clinical isolates of carbapenem-resistant Enterobacteriaceae collected from inpatients at the University Hospital Santa Maria, during seven months. Among subjected modified Hodge test (MHT), 62.5% were positive, indicating possible production carbapenemase. Polymerase chain reaction (PCR) demonstrated that blaKPC was most frequently found gene (31%), followed by blaIMP (12.5%). Combined use methods is needed identify...

Background: Aristolochia triangularis Cham., popularly known as the "cipó-milhomens", "angelicó" and "ypê-mi", is applied for treatment of wounds, skin diseases (6,7), digestive circulatory system an antipyretic malaria fever also. Objective: In this work, we investigated chemical composition, antimicrobial antimycobacterial activities Essential Oils (EOs) extracted from A. fresh stems leaves collected in Southern Brazil. Methods: Fresh Cham. were separately subjected to hydrodistillation...
