In this study, a poly(lactic acid) (PLA) ternary blend system consisting of PLA, an epoxy-containing elastomer, and zinc ionomer was introduced studied in detail. Transmission electron microscopy revealed that the "salami"-like phase structure formed blends. While increase blending temperature had little effects on tensile properties resulting blends, it greatly changed impact strength. For blends prepared at 240 °C by extrusion blending, PLA displayed supertoughness with moderate levels...

Polyglycolic acid (PGA) is considered a promising competitor in green packaging due to its superior strength and outstanding barrier properties, but applications are limited by inherent brittleness. Traditional toughening methods usually accompanied sacrifices both properties. In this work, robust high-barrier PGA/poly(butylene adipate-co-terephthalate) (PBAT) films were prepared combining reactive compatibilization, biaxial drawing, constrained annealing processes. The abundant uniformly...

Poly(lactic acid) (PLA) can be toughened by flexible poly(butylene adipate-co-terephthalate) (PBAT) at the cost of a certain degree strength and modulus loss. In an attempt to achieve balanced overall properties, PLA ternary composites containing both PBAT rigid nanoparticles, i.e., montmorillonite clay (MMT) or nanosized precipitated calcium carbonate (NPCC), were prepared twin screw extrusion subsequent injection molding. Mechanical testing demonstrated that MMT exhibited higher tensile...

Rosin is an abundantly available natural product. a mixture of acidic (ca. 90%) and neutral 10%) compounds. The characteristic fused ring structure rosin acids analogous to that some aromatic compounds in rigidity, makes its derivatives potential substitutes for those polymers. In this study, the synthesis biobased epoxy curing agent using cure reaction were investigated. Abietyl glycidyl ether methyl maleopimarate synthesized from one acids. was used as model compound representing...

Abstract BACKGROUND: Although rosin acid derivatives have received attention in polymer synthesis recent years, to the best of our knowledge, they rarely been employed as epoxy curing agents. The objective study reported here was synthesize rosin‐based flexible anhydride‐type agents and demonstrate that flexibility a cured resin can be manipulated by selection with appropriate molecular rigidity/flexibility. RESULTS: Maleopimarate‐terminated low weight polycaprolactones (PCLs) were...

A noncommutative BTZ black hole is constructed in three-dimensional anti-de Sitter space. In this black-hole model, the smearing obtained by replacing point-like source term with a Lorentzian distribution. We mainly investigate thermodynamical properties of hole, including Hawking temperature, entropy, heat capacity and free energy.

In this work, biobased poly(lactic acid) (PLA)/soy protein concentrate (SPC) composites were prepared by twin screw extrusion and injection molding. Poly(2-ethyl-2-oxazoline) (PEOX) polymeric methylene diphenyl diisocyanate (pMDI) used sequentially as compatibilization agents to improve phase morphology interfacial bonding. Properties of the PLA/SPC significantly improved application PEOX pMDI. The SPC was refined stretched into fine threads during processing under effect PEOX. With only 0.5...
