The emergence of artificial intelligence (AI)-based linguistic models has revolutionized academic writing, prompting concerns about integrity. In response, AI-powered text authenticity detectors have been developed. This study examines AI tool usage in anesthesiology and intensive care journals. 1268 articles from 86 journals “Anesthesiology” “Anesthesiology Intensive Care” were analyzed using Copyleaks ZeroGPT. English abstracts published between April 18 May 18, 2023, scrutinized. ZeroGPT...

Sir, Anisocoria (a unilateral dilated pupil) in critical care patients is a point of concern, which warrants thorough examination and often, also, costly investigations to rule out serious cause.[1] A 48-year-old female patient transferred our intensive for further management respiratory failure due fungal pneumonia. After 12 hours from admission, her nurse noticed that, right pupil was both normal size responsiveness light, left fully [Figure 1]. Examination the cranial nerves showed no...

Patients undergoing maxillofacial surgery frequently require nasal intubation. Although awake fiberoptic intubation is the procedure of choice, a bronchoscope (FOB) may not be available in all clinics. Furthermore, itself requires skill and experience, cannot used when view obstructed by bleeding or secretions. Herein we describe 3 patients whom oral to endotracheal tube exchange was accomplished with aid nasogastric after placement an LMA CTrachTM, as no FOB available.

This study was designed to test the hypothesis that propofol, ketamine, and midazolam could alter contractile activity of detrusor smooth muscle.Four muscle strips isolated from each rat bladder (n = 12) were placed in 4 tissue baths containing Krebs-Henseleit solution. The carbachol (10 (-8)to 10(-4)mol/L)-induced responses as well 5, 10, 20, 30, 40, 50 Hz electrical field stimulation (EFS)-evoked muscles recorded using isometric contraction measurements.
