Objective: This study aimed to describe shunt malfunction symptoms in children ≤5 years old. Objective: Infants and young children cannot reliably self-report symptoms of shunt malfunctions. This study aimed to describe malfunction in this population. Methods: National survey caregivers ≤5 years old with a shunt. Results: Of the 228 children, most received shunts when <6 months old; almost half had malfunctions within 6 months.
