The natural history of Acentroptera basilica Guérin-Méneville, 1844 and A. cf. tessellata Baly, 1958 (Cassidinae: Sceloenoplini) associated with Aechmea aquilega Salisb. Vriesea sp. (Bromeliaceae), respectively, is registered. Adults both species are leaf scrapers, although larvae leaf-miners. immature stages described illustrated for the first time. male female genitalia new records also included.
Two new species of Epimelitta (Cerambycidae: Cerambycinae: Rhinotragini) are described from Brazil: E. prodigiosa sp. nov., Espírito Santo, Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo penicillata Santa Catarina Grande do Sul. The larva pupa nov. also illustrated. Stenopseustes gibbicollis Fisher, 1947 is synonymized with S. aeger Bates, 1873.
